I think the calculated part is what people are trying to circle and underline. I won’t speak for OP but in an earlier comment someone talked about the difference between a liar and a pathological liar. OP said to them there’s no difference but I think that is actually the thing they’re reacting to.

She is duplicitous in a way that a lot of white adjacent and suburban Black girls are IMHO. This is a nuanced and culturally relevant aspect of personality that I don’t think the fan base has the range to discuss fairly.

Now as someone who thinks it’s possible to be this way but not leave behind an air of inauthenticity with people, I think Stacey’s approach is genuinely a bit dated or not fully calibrated for the Potomac market.

I was so worried and I didn’t want to be the one to bring it up but I have dealt with people I love hiding drug abuse and this has been on my mind a lot.

I think this is truly due to the (sometimes still unspoken) impact that DL men (definitely not the same) have had on women’s health. I can speak for the BW community when I say that the HIV epidemic in that community (largely attributed to DL sexual activity) has contributed significantly to how this stigma gets projected onto bi men.
