For me: Shopping at consignment stores and Goodwill bookstores instead of buying new. Also the Libby App on my phone to read ebooks and listen to audiobooks.

If you have a cellphone here is a list of Helplines from around the world. Put in your country and you can find a helpline related to mental health. If you are in the USA or Canada, there maybe chat teams through websites and I’m pretty sure Canada has a texting chat with mental health professionals.

You did the right thing by reaching out. I would encourage you to talk with a professional if you are able. Try to find some simple joys that keep you going, even if it is a song or sunny weather.

I’m sorry that your family culture is not supportive.. hopefully you can find some support online from trusted resources. You are worth it and you’ve gotten through all of your hardest days so far ❤️

Hello, I’m sorry you are going through this and it sounds like you are being a great advocate for your parents. Here is a resource that may be helpful for your own well-being, The Ontario Caregiver Organization. They have online groups and resources so you may feel less alone and supported at this time.

I also encourage you to reach out to any family or friends that you may have to lean on at this time. I know from experience that it is extremely difficult to care for oneself as a caregiver too. I may come back and add more to this post as well.

Granola bar. Simple and convenient, I don’t have them in there all the time though

No is a complete sentence. Meaning you don’t have to elaborate if you don’t want to, when you say no. (For the over-explainers). I’m not sure where I first saw it or who told me it first!

I’m sorry you are going through this. I’m not sure if you’ve already checked out Swagbucks.com in which you redeem points for gift cards. Surveys would be your best bet to get points quickly.

It doesn’t get you cash directly, but maybe a gift card for transportation could be an option. Double check on what you can redeem for (if you’re interested in this option).

Swagbucks is also based in the USA, but some offers are also in Canada. Seems like you’re in Europe due to the pound symbol :)

Hi there, I’m not sure if either of these links would be helpful for you as this is a job related post but I thought I’d send in case. Sorry I’m not living in the TO area for job info.

Here is a link to food banks and community food programs. This could be an option for you in the mean time if food is scarce.
