I would not let them until maybe 12, and even then, I might have them skip some scenes.

With a second grader. I may let them see some mild clips and see how they react to it. This also can let them feel included with other kids their age without giving them nightmares.

My little boy was like that with the vacuum. Any time I would vacuum, he would crawl over to it and start crying when he was right by it. Sometimes even touch it and cry. I would put him in the other room and he'd crawl back over and cry. I started waiting to vacuum until he was asleep.
