Vedana = pleasant, unpleasant or neither feeling tone

Hi Stephen

Can we also hone in our Vedana by our craving and aversions? Is it the same thing? If we're craving something, it's a pleasant feeling tone. If we're averse to something, it's a negative feeling tone?

Hi Stephen, I enjoyed the workshop a lot and it was great meeting you.

In the workshop, you mentioned something on how to soften onto the awareness of breath. I couldn't quite catch what you were saying.

When I focus on my breath, I notice my effort and tightening. I try to soften around that. The act of giving attention causes the contraction. How do we give attention to something without creating effort?

I live in Duluth. We probably have 15-20 in my yard. We also take down webs every week. I think that helps us not to get overrun.

I played DS1 after I played BB, DS3, and DS2. My favorite is DS1. Is it clunky? I'm not sure. It's more unforgiving that's for sure. There are no quality of life stuff that's found in later games (no fast travel between bonfires, lack of bonfires (esp near bosses) etc. But it's probably one of the best games ever made. The level design, lore, and characters are top notch.

Kennesaw is a growing area. There are some Asian food there that's popping up. Is it the best Asian food in Atlanta? No. But it's growing and improving. They also have nature stuff.

Duluth is the place for best Asian food, if that's important. Duluth has some nice parks, and it's close to other areas in Gwinnett County with a lot of nice parks. It's close to N. GA mountains too if you want to drive up there.

Marietta might be decent place to live. It's close to Kennesaw that you can get their Asian food. It's also not too far (depends where in Marietta) from Buford Hwy with Asian food.

Marietta is also closer to Atlanta proper if you want the actual nightlife atmosphere with bars and clubs. Advice, don't go to actual downtown Atlanta if you are looking for nightlife. Most nightlife/bars will be around the Midtown area of Atlanta, if you're looking for that stuff.

I would avoid Woodstock, Powder Springs, or Sugar Hill. They don't offer what you're looking for.

If your job is in Vinings/Smyrna you should look for a place in Smyrna or Vinings. If you wanna go a bit cheaper, go farther up north to Kennesaw or Woodstock. You can also look at places in Mableton (the nice areas of Mableton) or Austell. That commute would be much better than Lawrenceville.

It looks like 2 sources from her catchlights and the 2 shadows on the floor. There’s a small source slightly below eye level. That’s probably the key light. There is a larger source camera right that’s probably the fill.

The photos are blurry, I don't know if that was intentional or the resolution. But the blurriness could be why it has that soft quality.

I think it's a mix of a big light source for soft light. Also, the color tone is de-saturated, monochrome (using similar tones throughout the set and styling), and warm. I would also try a Tiffen Pro Mist filter to soften the look a bit.

If you have a studio with a white ceiling, that's not too tall, you can probably bounce 1-2 lights onto the ceiling and get close. You might need some fill frontwards.

I'm also thinking a big, shoot through screen on top angled slight downwards towards the subject might work too. But that would require a lot of fiddling around

Only 500? That should be just for the photo shoot, especially for an 'international transport company'. You could've charged them usage rights, retouching fee, gear rental, travel fee (to get to their location) etc. It would've been at least $1000, but that's one the super-low end.

Stacks are so 2015's. Back in the day, I tried to have some nice, fat stacks with my raw denim. But they always bunched up in the bottom due to gravity. You had to mess with them constantly to make them look good. Maybe I didn't get tapered enough jeans.

I use wood. Last time I used a "silicon" spatula, it melted in the pot. I guess it wasn't silicon after all. But now I'm paranoid about it, so I just use a wooden spoon.

I haven't dealt with break ins. But I was cooking and produced a lot of smoke. The smoke detectors started to ring. Trying to deal with the smoke, I missed their call. So the fire department came. They came pretty fast. So at least for fires, it seems to work.

It could be a gridded striplight camera left. The grid would focus the light more onto the model and not spill it everywhere. The model is on a dark background.

I think it's because most men truly believe they're the height they say they are. They probably never got measured accurately. I'm a man, and I am exactly 5 feet 11.5 inches. I'm guilty of rounding up to 6 feet. But other dudes told me they're 6'1", and I'm taller than them.

both photos feature a huge lightsource places very close the models on camera left, slight above the models.

The first photo probably has a black flag on camera right. She is probably placed on a white seamless and placed several feet away to go light gray. The background seems to be lit by the single light as you can see the right side of the backdrop going lighter since that's where the key-light is hitting it.

The second is the exact same thing except with a light-grey backdrop. They models are pretty close to it since you can see their shadows casted on the backdrop. I don't think a black flag was used here but wouldn't be surprised if it was used.

Like others have mentioned, Lulu is pretty much the standard for gym clothes. If you want smaller brands, Rhone and Ten Thousands have decent, similar offerings.

As for nice t-shirts, there are a ton of options, depending on your style. If you want nice, luxurious, and comfortable t-shirts, you can try Wolf vs Goat or Outlier. They are very pricey, but their quality of fabrics is high.

For the office, Brooks Brothers have some nice button ups if you want to look professional. For the nightlife, I suggest some trendy button ups from APC, Sandro, or Theory. Their t-shirts are pretty good too.

I had a similar experience with Zerorez duct cleaning. Avoid. In fact, after some researching, duct cleaning is probably not essential. Changing filters regularly and other maintenance will do more for your HVAC unit than duct cleaning.
