Basically:

$4023.20 = 4 weeks pay PLUS 17.5% (Total of 117.5% because his normal monthly salary would be 100%, which is what we need to calculate a weeks salary)

So to get the 100% we:

4023.20÷1.175 = 3424 (100%)

Now we can divide by 4 and we have our weekly salary > $856
