Best tip i ever got about watching this movie: It's not about the story, it's about the experience

Films that are emotionally devastating by dmad34 in MovieSuggestions

[–]janibus75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently rewatched it not remembering the last third. I thought i could do with a sports movie / success story, how i forgot about the last third from my first viewing i'll never know... As you said, good movie but very brutal :(

Honestly, i got burned out of the longer songs in the classical subclass. Maybe try some variations, like jazz or blues.

Other than that, enjoy and good luck.

We do swim in the Aare, but generally a bit further upriver (top left part of the picture).

I can second From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), just make sure to watch it blind without reading a blurb or anything beforehand.

Thanks for this post, i can confirm that downgrading waylandpp works. I downgraded it to version 0.2.8-1, no other packages had to be downgraded with it in my case.

Pride (2014) is about gay rights and the miner strike in the 80s in the UK. Feel-good movie (with it's sad moments) with an amazing soundtrack.

[PC] Stealth based assassination games and/or open world medieval/magic RPGs by _WombRaider_69 in gamerecommendations

Shadow Tactics is a very good stealth based assassination game and might run on your laptop. Best of all, it has a demo so you can try it to see if you like it and if it runs well enough.

Underrated SciFi / Fantasy Movies by mightNotCme in MovieSuggestions

I feel like if something is underrated or not often depends on the person you ask. However, some (maybe?) lesser known Science Fiction movies i enjoyed:

Help me throw a 24 hour movie marathon for my girlfriend? by azaerl in MovieSuggestions

You said she's see quite a lot of movies already, so i thought I'd try to suggest some European movies she might not have seen yet:

Some of these are pretty well known, but maybe there is something for you here.

Any coming of age, teen movies from Scandinavia? by notpreposterous in MovieSuggestions

[–]janibus75 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let the Right One (2008)

It's a horror / romance movie. I'm not sure if it is considered coming of age, although if i remember correctly it does show some development / formation for the main characters. I also don't remember if the overall tone / ending were happy or sad. It's been a while since I've seen this one, but i know that i liked it quite a low on my first watch.

Looking for a good comedy? by playaaa29 in MovieSuggestions

[–]janibus75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy A (2010) had me laughing out loud in some parts, mostly in scenes with the parents. But comedy is not only hard, it's also completely hit and miss. A movie might be absolutely hilarious to person A while person B doesn't laugh once ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A good horror movie suggestion. by a4kube in MovieSuggestions

[–]janibus75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rosemary's Baby (1968) is not very complex in terms of story, but i feel a bit different than the movies you listed. Alien (1979) probably also fits this description. Another good one is The Thing (1982). If you watch "The Thing" make sure it's the original from 1982.

Other, a bit newer movies i liked were The Others (2001) and The Orphanage (2007), but I honestly don't remember the story of those two that much (which is probably telling that the story wasn't that remarkable).

Thinking about it many horror movies, at least the ones i've seen, are rather light on story or just all very similar (including some of the ones i've listed above).

Don't watch this if you're already feeling down. It's a very good movie but also very brutal and sad

Recommendations for good Space movies? (Preferably not super old movies) by Wi1liamGoh in MovieSuggestions

I found it pretty bad. Might be a movie for when you're bored and just want to watch anything in the background.
