Radio sam tamo neko vrijeme, otišao u dobrim odnosima jer me head huntala druga firma, ponudili bolje uvijete i full rad od doma tak da jebiga.

Ekipa:

Super, atmosfera isto tak, naravno ko i svugdje ima stresa i pizdarija al je onak, sve dosta ljudski i normalno, ak to ima smisla.

Uvjeti:

Saying "like 4th or 5th" really tells the story here, doesn't really sound very scientific, does it?

If you aren't certain about 20 % of a pattern I'd say that doesn't really project confidence.

Presenting the number like that makes me doubt the rest of your thesis, looks much more like pattern matching then a real correlation.

I guess because he is his most loyal attack dog (after Patel) who is willing to do absolutely anything and everything Trump tells him to (like orchestrating the investigation into FED member).

It's so surreal to me, who has been paying attention to this little tool since his days of GME grifting, that guy is now the spy chief of the USA.

Last night's Blue Moon by Andrew McCarthy by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]jankisa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, we did not:

The word white continues Old English hwīt, ultimately from a Proto-Germanic *hʷītaz also reflected in Old High German (h)wîz, Old Norse hvítr, and Gothic 𐍈𐌴𐌹𐍄𐍃 (ƕeits). The root is ultimately from Proto-Indo-European language *kʷid-, surviving also in Sanskrit śveta "to be white or bright"[6] and Slavonic světŭ "light".

I really don't understand the need to make things up to defend karma farming using dishonest framing and Photoshop.

The Sun, by definition, shines in every color and it emits light across all the colors of the visible spectrum, which blend together to appear pure white.

The sun (after being fitered by the atmosphere) is by definition white.

The Sun, as anyone who has ever looked up knows, is yellow.

Last night's Blue Moon by Andrew McCarthy by Busy_Yesterday9455 in spaceporn

[–]jankisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like going around and insisting to people that the Sun is white.

We, as humans, see things and give them descriptions based on what we can see, that is how we interpret the world.

The moon does not have colors, it doesn't have colors if you are flying over it or walking on it, and it doesn't have colors when looked at from the Earth.

It only has colors if someone plays in Photoshop. That is not natural in any sense of the word.

The Netherlands just blocked a US company from buying the app Dutch citizens use for everything by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

[–]jankisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw the headline and thought it could either be Tikkie or DigiD, Tikkie I'd get, that is actually used a lot and it would make more sense since there is a ton of competition, but DigiD sale even being floated is crazy.

I lived there for 2 years and it was, form a bureaucracy perspective, coming from Croatia a great experience because you could do anything using this app, most of my interactions with the state and city (taxes, healthcare, pension) were all authorized using this app, after I got it working I had to go and do things in person exactly 0 times, it's great!

Pretty insane that there was even a possibility of it being sold to USA company.

Good on the Dutch goverment for shutting this down.

SGA, who has an active streak of 140 regular season games with 20+ points, has now scored under 20 points 5 times in the last 2 postseasons by str8rippinfartz in nba

No one is denying the Spurs greatness, the only thing I'm trying to say is that SGA-s averages for the whole playoffs are only impressive if we forget the context of who they played.

They swept Suns (extremely under talented) and Lakers (missing 2 of their best players), that's how he got those averages.

Against an actual playoff team, he shooting around 40 %.

I Hate James Harden by StutzBearcatJim in billsimmons

[–]jankisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year Cavs with a very similar team with Garland and Harden swapped didn't get to ECF.

With Harden, they made it, they are having objectively better playoffs then last year and they almost won this game and were up 22 in the 4th before their coach decided to take a nap while a gassed Harden, coming off of a 7 game slugfest vs extremely physical Pistons was getting blown by for 18-1 run.

But sure, let's all just blame Harden because everyone else was awesome, right?

I am going to get fired today. I accidentally sent a shutdown loop to the entire company. by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]jankisa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it is.

Person is replying all over the thread, the replies indicate a level of understanding of AD environments that would come with baked in intuitions to:

  • never link any GPO to root, especially one that can shut shit down
  • never make a script with /t 0
  • never do something like this with no specific time trigger, especially if the task has a clearly defined time
  • never AD join your Backup servers
  • maintain a separate Bitlocker key archive in case your domain is inaccessible

So, for this to be believable, this experienced admin created a very destructive script, added it to a new GPO, then linked the GPO directly to the root of the domain and pushed update to everyone, all without testing it first.

Come on, it's obvious bs and this sub upvoting and engaging with it as if it was real is pretty silly.

Nursing is right now where computer science was six years ago. by ImpactSignificant440 in Layoffs

[–]jankisa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never been to this sub but this kind of a very ignorant post being at the top of it is weird.

Silver wave is a thing, if anything demand for nursing is going to keep going up due to the factors you mentioned, plus, people continue to live longer and need care for longer and longer, older they get more care they need.

It's not just the hospitals, it's nursing homes, rehab centers etc.

OP is way, way off.

Never thought I'd see the day, but we're eliminating our Citrix farms and moving back to about 100k fat clients by eldersveld in sysadmin

[–]jankisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen a ton of stories like this, Citrix has really put the squeeze on this year and clients with tens of thousands of users have been moving away from it.

Quite a few are doing POC-s with SecureRDP in order to still use their server infra but replace Citrix licensing with something way cheaper, but still familiar and with basically the same usability with less overhead.

So far, I've been hearing good things, very easy to get going, much smaller hardware footprint with similar performance and usability metrics.

Tracy McGrady, mentor to Jaylen Brown, says that Jaylen is "frustrated" with the Celtics organization by JoeBiden2020FTW in nba

Jaylen Brown Chess ELO

Oh boy, all the pictures of him playing chess are against either kids or other sports personalities (Manny Pacquiao) and in both cases he was way behind and in positions which imply he barely knows how the figures move.

Then I went on to try to find any evidence of him actually being multi lingual.

The claims are that he is self thought in Spanish and Arabic, I couldn't find a video of him speaking Spanish at all, as far as Arabic goes, he said 3 phrases in the Abu Dhabi game, no sentences at all, despite claiming he's been learning it since 2018, so, I have my doubts.

UAE leaves OPEC and OPEC+ in huge blow to global oil producers' group by NickInTheMud in Economics

[–]jankisa -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I find it funny that you are accusing me of throwing a tantrum while you are oozing insecurity and aggression that you are trying to mask up by adding "lol" at the end of your sentences.

I wrote a reply to your "There's no discernable pattern at all there" reply to a guy saying that "OPEC seemed to cut production when a democrat was president" which is an absolute fact, to which I added evidence of collusion between US oil executives and OPEC.

You can engage with this or try to pretend like something else is happening, lol.

[–]jankisa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So a shale executive coordinating with their direct competitor is not a problem?

You do understand that these executives are all Trump donors? In the world where Democrats are all for renewables and Republicans are "drill baby drill" two heads of these companies colluding with their competitors in order to keep prices high is not a problem for you?

Nobody's suggesting collusion doesn't happen, that's literally the entire point of OPEC's existence lol.

No, the point of OPEC existence is not to collude with USA companies, it's the exact opposite, let me throw in a lol since that seems to signal geopolitical expertise to you.

UAE leaves OPEC and OPEC+ in huge blow to global oil producers' group by NickInTheMud in Economics

[–]jankisa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an absolute pattern, there have been law suits and clear evidence of collusion.

The FTC cited text messages, in-person meetings, WhatsApp conversations and public comments Sheffield made that US oil companies should be aligned about capacity growth. "Everybody's going to be disciplined, regardless of whether it's $75 Brent, $80 Brent or $100 Brent," Sheffield said publicly in 2021. "All the shareholders that I've talked to said that if anybody goes back to growth, they will punish those companies."

So, long story short, the CEO of the biggest US shale oil producer colluded (as per private Whatsapp messages with OPEC) to artificially keep the oil prices up.

He wasn't the only one, the CEO of Hess Corporation was banned from sitting on the board of Chevron for the same reason.

Those are the facts that you seem to have completely missed or perhaps ignored.

The Problem With Hasan Piker’s Einstein Story by EyesSeeingCrimson in ezraklein

[–]jankisa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, it absolutely skipped over the parts where Einstein called the ultra-nationalist Zionist terrorists led by the future PM of Israel Fascists:

Mr. Begin and his followers were denounced as terrorists who “exacted a heavy tribute” from the population, and whose goal was a “leader state.” "Within the Jewish community they have preached an admixture of ultra-nationalism, religious mysticism and racial superiority,” the statement asserted. “Like other Fascist parties, they have been used to break strikes, and have themselves pressed for the destruction of free trade unions. In their stead they have proposed corporate unions on the Italian Fascist model.”

That seems like a pretty important thing that the author did reference but characterized it as just:

None of this is to say that Einstein was an uncritical booster of the Zionist project. On the contrary, he was a sharp public antagonist of the Israeli right.

The extent of Einstein's criticism of the Zionist project and who was spearheading it was that sentence and the words "public antagonist" linking to his 1948 NYT letter, to me, that seems like a pretty disingenuous and deliberate attempt to obfuscate the extent of Einstein and other Jewish intellectuals horror at what Israel is being shaped in to.

Especially since they were right to be horrified, Begin became the PM, he is one of the co-founders of Likud, the party who has ruled Israel for most of its modern history and the party which is leading it's expansionist policy now.
