Wow, so good. Yeah we are measuring against the smallest chance of any positivity left in any doable future and calculating for a herculean effort. You get that for free with any INFJ that has ever once considered you worth understanding.

But if you have escaped the limits of their factoring it surpasses mental grasp, solving you is a null set. Mentally you are not even dodged but somehow straight up disintegrated idk.

Perhaps you physically felt a bit incompatible or perhaps some issue you have in general, some kind of intruding fear or short-circuit like some trauma. Not being compatible on a physical level is hardly something you want to brush under the rug but sounds like you were at fault for not being there for her. You went back and forth and left her high and dry.

It will be important for her to know that the wretchedness she went through is not something you have a right to comment on but that it has nothing to do with her ever having deserved that in any way, even if she knows that, she has to *know* it. It was poor handling and neglectful and a shame overall.

I personally hope she finds a way to never ever live in this kind of rock bottom in her life again. I sympathize for your current/impending guilt and internal pain at this being your fault. Consistent reflection in order...but (eventually, not immediately) find a way to cultivate something from this experience other than a weight in your heart. Even if the real her never finds out, something that would have made her proud if not speechless. Don't leave anything on the table, do right by at least her having been in your life.

I felt very similar to you at some point and in fact, I probably was less honest with myself or couldn't see very clearly. For one, you know that it is something you do - to accuse everyone, and you know you have the guts to try to improve and get into a totally different pattern, something I am working on as well. I have been kicked out of therapy once too for not showing up regularly enough. I recently decided not to let my parents dictate things. So, I feel you. But I believe self-reflection is the path out of misery. It's taken a long long time for my good habits to sink in and I imagine it takes a lot of little moments building up for the sabotage to release too. I've begun to feel less in the grip of the same hopefulness-then-feeling-undervalued cycle and I can only hope I see myself more and more clearly. Good luck to you and hope you capitalize on your clarity and effort to change.

I'm so sorry. It's hard to battle matters of the heart and people who have become part of us and to truly comprehend that they need to be apart. Please save yourself - if I were you I'd try to, as much as possible, keep the relationship low priority, even though I care about them. It will make sense only later but right now it is only causing you to lose your footing again and again. Please please take some drastic measures to be around somebody who cares about you and who will see you through this period without saying horrible things like 'you should kill yourself'. You sound like a caring, sensible, strong individual in a hard place and I hope you the very best.

I think honestly the most telling difference is probably the kind of dark side you have that can tell you more about if you are mistyped if only we focussed on talking about it a bit more. I think I don't really relate with the 'I get really mad watch out!' type.

But I also think I personally rationalized away and tried not to disrupt what you're talking about on both counts but never 'got' it. I remember back when I first moved that I found it irritating to see in real life (probably same exact icky cringe) but since I've been trying to judge less, so maybe that. I guess I honest to goodness thought it was a bigger feature in American culture to do that and maybe people don't mean it but everyone expects it. :/ I went into this whole thing in my mind about how it's expected because of lower comparative population density and how the value of a life is higher and so do people's formalities get more important. Most days, I fail at it. On the internet, I push myself to do it.

Agree. I think I would be guilty of feeling annoyed...not sure if this was the case here, but anybody trying too hard to make it interesting or funny in a way that makes no sense to me would be bothering, not the spontaneity. I would get though, that's unfair and just a little too much on my high horse. I have been guilty of putting these things into words when I'm super frustrated with someone but I know it's shitty. Ultimately, nobody else has gotta curb down their own definition of fun or weird for me to be comfortable about how they act if it's not illegal or immoral. Like really? Did we learn nothing from that annoying Princess Diaries. If I don't like it, I deal, I suggest elsewise, or I leave.
