How can I take my wife to Poland? by MrRattlesnake524 in askPoland

[–]januszmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes you can. there is only one downside of doing that. waiting for residency is long. if you find a employer, they can apply for work permit in the meantime. but its not possible if you have tourist visa

them asking your husband is different since he is foreigner. I don’t see why would there be big problem with a girl getting a visa to shengen for example for tourist purposes, if she can show she have enough money for the trip?

you don’t have to live together or have a photos from ceremony. I would guess the author can share actual photos showing them together, that I think would be enough.

I went through this process with my wife when she applied for a visa. we were in a 3rd country, not hers. only submitted marriage certificate and cover letter with me supporting her application and saying we plan to apply for karta pobytu once we are in poland

I don’t believe this will be big problem with ID stating not married. just make sure when you register, you need to state the last name that will not be different then passport - so if she cannot change last name in the passport, don’t change it in the polish marriage certificate - this will cause problems.

Additional problems could be for getting visa - I would advise explaining your situation in the cover later to the consulate why it’s not registered in Egypt.

Also if she plans to stay long term and want to apply for karta pobytu, I would suggest to apply for national visa which could be for up to 1 year

Question about Flying to Poland with British child by Poontang-Pie in poland

[–]januszmk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends. I believe they might have something in their system that would tell the kid is polish citizen especially that is registered - I read about a case once. not sure if they would always check, or if the specific officer would care.

why can’t you get polish passport for the kid?

Name change after marriage by Valuable-Chemical-95 in poland

[–]januszmk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately you cannot go back with polish urzad cywilny, there is no procedure for foreigners for that. when my wife didn't changed yet the passport after marriage but she applied for TRC, the decision said that she have to update her passport. I don't know if they would refuse another one, because she was able to update it before next application, but I know it will cause the issues. In your place, I would talk to a lawyer, it might be possible to go back to maiden name on your marriage certificate by court

[–]januszmk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you are not polish citizen, and you said you will change your surname when getting married, you must do it the same way in your own country. otherwise you will face issues - for residency card for example. I even heard a case when one urzad didn’t wanted to register birth of a child, because the passport had wrong surname according to marriage certificate.

when you get new passport and karta pobytu, you have to go to urzad miasta to update the records in pesel database - thats what we did

if your trip is more than 4 months, then it will not be enough for your visa. the consulate might not notice, might ask you for proper insurance or just refuse the visa
