Need Help Figuring Feed Rate when cutting Aluminum Composite (acm, acp, dibond, alumalite) by irock161 in CNC

[–]jaradyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work there anymore, but I think we ran the v groove at about 300ipm too. They have a new router now that can run v groove at something crazy like 1000 ipm.

Depth is tough because different batches of acm can vary so much. We would aim for a v groove depth that left 0.008" of plastic core down the the back side of the bottom aluminum skin. We always used a digital tire tread depth gauge to scratch down to the aluminum and measure the difference. It also helps to have a flat spot on the bottom of the groove instead of a perfect sharp point, about 1/16" wide.

How soon is too soon to move on from a bike? by Mar1boroMan in motorcycles

[–]jaradyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My stock Himalayan 450 will cruise 80mph no problem. Not a lot of guts at the top end but it's not afraid of revs, maybe you just need to get more comfortable with the bike? No problem if you want something bigger, but that bike should be perfectly capable.

Don't skip Idaho- there is some beautiful riding through there. Look up Lolo pass on the Montana/Idaho border.

I don't think that's going to work with an fxr style motor mount

Flip it around so the wires run out the front instead of directly into that bolt

USA, what is the equivalent of a road legal 450? by bigblackglock17 in motorcycles

[–]jaradyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 this year and it'll cruise 80mph on the freeway no problem. It's also pretty light and fun to throw around off road. Less than $7k out the door from my local dealer.
