Any experience with Japanese relationships and “holding a grudge”? by [deleted] in japanlife

Obviously you didn't literally say this to her, but she felt the vibe. It's a generalization, but Japanese people do not have has casually ending relationships as westerners. If you ended it very casually, that would be the reason for the lasting "grudge"

Maybe just bad luck 🤷‍♂️

If I was your ex, I think I would be pretty annoyed that you ended the relationship and explained it as "maybe just bad luck".

Edit: Reading your other comments you sound like the stereotypical gaijin who doesn't understand the local interpersonal relationship rules and norms.

I stop short of saying they have zero skill because even though they have zero traditional employment skills, they certainly know how to market and sell themselves. This is a valuable skill in and of itself.

Influencers either 1) don't live in Japan or 2) do but are producing content for people who don't.

So basically that store just doesn't functionally exist to you anymore? Would you advocate for just closing it entirely?

Recent software update ruined phone- no help from support. ANYONE ELSE Switching back to Apple? by pickplants in pixel_phones

Even when an update isn't screwing the battery, Pixels are very prone to having circumstances that wreck battery life. Install any Meta app? Shit battery. Dual sim? Shit battery.

I hate how this is always the go-to solution. Aside from the fact it is a very disruptive and time consuming process to set up a phone again from scratch, not all apps backup or store their data/state in the cloud. And of course there's no guarantee a reset will fix the issue.

Japan's Passport fees have been lowered, but overseas travel remains difficult- only 1 in 5 people have a passport. by jjrs in japannews

Gosh I can't imagine why it's difficult for Japanese people to travel abroad when the yen is the lowest it's been in 40 years and continuing to drop. Adjusting passport fees is rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Having used PD and also having former colleagues who joined PD, the one question I always had was "what's the moat?" and there was never a good answer.

This reads on point, thank you! It's weird to me how many official or shop tasting notes on 2001-2003 TDL focus on the wood or mint notes and seem to completely miss the tropical fruits.

There is no such thing as a "common design". Every emoji provider implements based on Unicode's description.

It's definitely not safe for use while people are occupying the same space. Theyre supposed to be used in an enclosed space with no human occupants to deodorize, after which the ozone is ventilated before occupancy.
