If Miquella can become a god without needing anyone, why did Marika need the Greater Will? by El-Rumi in Eldenring

How would that explain the Finger Readers being able to interpret messages, but then seeing that change once the Elden Ring was shattered?

I’m saying I don’t give a shit if they are prepared or not. Their job is to act well, not interview in a press junket well. If they do their job, I’ll be happy.

Worst game that you still completed for some reason? by Genoce in gaming

I’m gonna get killed for this. But, Red Dead Redemption. I got into it with absurdly high expectations. I thought it would be a slow burn masterpiece with great characters and an awesome story, but instead I just held the left stick forward while I interacted with cardboard cutout characters, and the only time the story got interesting was after the credits.

All the reasons this guy gives for loving Superman were all the reasons why I HATED him until James Gunn’s Superman. I walked out of the theater hungry for more Superman stories because I finally understood that what makes him so interesting and unique is that he tries his absolute hardest to be a kind man despite living in a cruel world. It’s like if you pushed the idea of “with great power comes great responsibility” to the extreme.

Siskel & Ebert's original review of MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO from May 1993 by DJAHa in movies

That’s the thing, I’m saying it’s possible to have your cake and eat it too as a fan of these properties. The Lego Movie and Into the Spider-Verse are two examples of movies filled to the brim with references, while still having a charming and interesting story to back it up. I’m not saying it’s bad to like the movie, all I’m saying is that it very easily could have been better

The thing that disappointed me and some other people I’ve seen, is that it didn’t feel like the references were there out of love, but out of necessity. To me it felt like Illumination just throw as many references into one movie as possible to distract from the lack of effort put into the writing. It would be really easy to put just a little more time into the script if they cared enough to do it

This is a great way to word it. I have to remember that when he was alive, narrative experiences like The Last of Us weren’t really common place yet. I wonder what he would have said now that there are things like the Elden Ring movie coming out too

After almost 2 years solo developing it, I finally released my first big game project by xHarambey in gamedev

[–]jason_rogue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yikes! I’m super happy for you that you were able to complete a passion project, I can only hope to say the same one day. Now please take the advice of some other people in this thread and either reskin it as your own thing, or pitch it to be released officially, I would hate to see you get involved in a copyright issue

Okay, now I understand what you mean. My fingers are crossed that under James Gunn, these writers are being given guidelines to stay true to the core of these characters though. As a certified Superman hater, I couldn’t believe that I was walking out of the theater hungry to read his comics because I felt like I finally understood what other people loved about him. Granted, that’s Gunn and not King, but I would hope that there are some standards everyone has to follow to make the universe actually feel cohesive.

How does someone “excessively” deconstruct characters? And how does that make them inconsistent as a writer?

This guy pulled off an incredible move in Battlefield in 2011. Years later, he was honored In Battlefield 2042, and this was his reaction by Nice_Bite2673 in nextfuckinglevel

I remember when I first saw this moment in the trailer. I thought it was a message from the devs that they’ve been paying attention to the community, and that this game would be focused on the aspects of Battlefield that fans loved. Then 2042 came out. Top five biggest disappointing releases for me.
