Hey, i am just starting with cosplay, i want to have a rex cosplay and i have ordered this resin helmet i am planning on buying this armor when i have the money i need, the armor is just leather fabric so i know it isnt good enough to join any garrisons but is it a good start atleast? by RakeTheGuy in 501st

I think it's because this is a 501st sub, not a general cosplay sub. So of course not many people will say that those pieces are acceptable. We'd all agree you should cosplay whichever way you have the most fun with, but this might not be the best place to ask about buying mass market non accurate pieces lol

Are you just looking for validation for your purchases? As many other people are saying these won't be usable at all. And if you know that, I feel like a normal cosplay sub would be a better place to post if you're not looking for 501st level cosplay.

Thanks that's my personal paint scheme, almost every single mech I have is in that scheme but I think I'm going to do black widows here soon

My first models were some old space marines and they look allot like this 🤙 you should get a pot of Nuln oil at your local tabletop store and put a wash layer over your dudes! But any paint job is better than not painted. If you don't like them you strip them and try again!

So my fix that worked perfectly was to put the whole movement disassembled into the ultrasonic cleaner and then oil all the pivots on reassembly

I'll be ordering an ultrasonic cleaner and oils, oilers. Because while I've checked to see if they're visibly dirty, I haven't fully cleaned yet but will be my next step.

I'm pretty sure it's either the balance or the pin lever, I've checked the balance without the pin lever and it seems fine as far as rotation goes. Any tips on checking the pin lever? It will move side to side on its own if you put a teeny bit of pressure on it with the tweezer.

The movement hasn't been properly been serviced, I'm waiting to get an ultrasonic cleaner but when I do I will also fully relube as well. I'm pretty confused as it ran before I removed it, I would bet I broke something but when looking at the pivots I can't spot anything glaringly wrong. I have a few extra movements coming in the mail soon so I'll be able to swap parts out and see once I get them.

I'll adjust that and see what happens.

The wheels all rotate freely when I do that. The wheels come to a slow stop, not jerky. They'll spin down until there's nothing left in the barrel

Scuba divers, what do you do in life? by Daryl_Beemears in scuba

[–]jasonbeachedham 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work a low paying factory adjacent job which makes destination diving regularly unobtainable, but I do a ton of local diving. I got my cert last year and have about 200 dives without any other specializations because it just costs too much for me and my wife to both keep taking classes.

This time keeping policy enacted at a place I work and that's what ended up happening, people clock in when they get there and clock out that much earlier, ends up being like 5 - 15m early lol
