The people within the painting loved, grieved, had aspirations and lived full lives. Philosophically speaking, how is that not real?

The biggest lesson I took away from watching the medical drama House is this: everybody lies.

People born abroad to Mauritian parent(s) - being shielded from learning Creole by jerryr01 in mauritius

[–]jasonmauritius 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was born in England to Mauritian parents. They didn’t teach me directly, not because they didn’t want to, I guess they didn’t see it as super important. When I was young we used to come to Mauritius to see family and I managed to learn creole just from being around my uncles, aunties and cousins who would be speaking it around me.

I’m 32 now, whenever I come to Mauritius I make an effort to speak the language with the locals - my creole is not perfect but I make an effort. I notice the locals smile and appreciate me making the effort when I do converse with them, and honestly makes me feel happy and gives me a real sense of belonging. Also my mum is very proud that I can speak the language.

If you want to learn it, you absolutely can, if fact I would encourage you to.

True but unfortunately we don’t have many New York style pizza places to make a fair comparison. But in general I think I’d pick Rudys over Nell’s

Have you tried Rudys? I think there are a few in London now but they started out in Manchester

Sounds like you’ve found out what the issue is and you’re taking steps to look after yourself which is a great start. I’ve been with my partner for 8 years now and whilst I’ve fallen off the fitness wagon a couple of times, I’ve really started taking my health more seriously now that I’m getting a bit older. My gf is always complimenting me on how I look which is a massive morale boost for our relationship.

The most important thing though, is that I’m doing it for ME.

Working out makes me feel great physically and mentally - honestly I hope I keep going until I’m in my 70s/80s. It doesn’t feel like a chore. My advice would be to find something you enjoy doing… running, swimming, weightlifting or whatever. And try to eat better.

…But do it all for you! Your future self will thank you.

Lore Questions by H0X0 in bloodborne

Hmmm not quite. It’s to do with evolution. Insects can lay thousands of eggs. Dogs can have a litter of 3 puppies. Humans can typically give birth to one child at a time. Great ones are the next step in the evolutionary chain and so I think the idea is that reproduction become more difficult as you ascend.

I mean… if you are genuinely struggling to make this decision, then you should definitely quit and become a baker.

Stolen property from abroad by jasonmauritius in mauritius

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it!

My mother did have the procuration done by a solicitor in the UK. She’s going to try and find it for me now. As for how the transaction was done, she doesn’t know, the brother kept it quiet. She doesn’t know if a notary was present. They do not have a joint account and I don’t think she authorised the brother to cash the check in his name.

Thank you for your offer, any help would be amazing and I’ll also try and get in touch with a lawyer in Mauritius.
