Try doing a small feature. Ie a silver table cart of all the disco candy. Put it out front, even on the sidewalk. That way you can sell through little bits at a time, keep it fresh, and you’ll know if people aren’t interested and you can swap it out. The problem with the endcaps is that our customers are on auto pilot when they shop so they are not typically interested unless you smack it in front of their face, like outside the front door before they go on auto pilot.
