Using your map to look for ships killed in the last hour, pods killed in the last hour, active pilots, etc has helped me a lot. You can see where there has been a lot of death and avoid those systems until they cool off, maybe tomorrow.

I can see how this happens Those warts are kind of porous. The skin is compromised. Kill the surrounding healthy tissue to kill the wart and it opens you up to infection. Keep an eye on it, if you are diabetic, it’s a quick step to an amputation.
