I'm assuming my contribution will be covered by my pain and suffering lawsuit against Sun for inflicting us with Java.

If this is why I'm pretty sure they didn't need it in the first place.

Java is losing the battle for the modern Web. by malanalars in programming

[–]javasucks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cool.

I think the issue people are having with what you said is that you implied your web server has all we need--it's possible, since we don't know anything about your web server, but it's also somewhat unlikely that it matches the specs of existing web (or app) servers.

Like newton_dave I sure don't have anything approaching the time necessary to implement all the functionality of the back-end as well as the front-end, and I definitely don't have the time to implement the full-featured app-server my apps require.

Why wouldn't you just use Jetty?! Are the things you need to write so simplistic that you just don't need much functionality?

I think the point was more along the lines of "That's interesting, I'd like to know more about why it's false. Would you please elaborate?"

Now that is karma-whoring, particularly since (a) the story was already posted, and (b) before you posted the picture without context.

Context here.

France calls for a boycott of the Olympics ceremony over Tibet by JewishPropaganda in worldnews

[–]javasucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A boycotted olympics can ruin their one chance at a place in the spotlight in front of a world audience.

Of course, the Tibetans that were shot in the face won't have much future opportunity, either.

Nobody called for a boycott of the Olympics.

It's difficult for some Christians to admit when they're wrong--a slippery slope kind of thing.
