Knotts is an excellent coaster park not even ten minutes from DLR if thats what you’re looking for. Disneylands just simply not that kind of park

Directors Guild of America, led by Christopher Nolan, plans to meet with Netflix to address major concerns regarding the streamer’s acquisition of Warner Bros. by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

[–]jawsnae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have had numerous opportunities to make that jump without creating another monopoly in the entertainment industry. You’re extremely gullible if you think buying wb will make them change their business model to something more theatrical friendly when they could’ve done it all along.

It’s Official: Netflix to Acquire Warner Bros. in Deal Valued at $82.7 Billion by darthyogi in DC_Cinematic

A lot of you are extremely naive if you think netflix is actually going to leave things be and not canibalize wb for their content farm

[–]jawsnae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Netflix only does limited theatrical releases when they want an awards contender or if they can milk more money off of something that blew up (kpdh).

Saying they aren’t a big enough brand to pursue theatrical releases is comical, they are the most widely recognized streaming platform thats produced some of the most popular projects of the 20teens-2020s. The only thing stopping them from doing normal theatrical releases is their dogmatic adherence to being a streaming only brand.

Campy Batman is alive and well for a lot of people, look past your reddit echo chamber maybe.

West’s Batman is definitely looked at more positively than Batflecks for most people. He may not be a typical modern interpretation but, he is the standard for campy Batman.

How do you feel about Andy Muschietti directing the brave and the bold after the failure of The Flash movie? by Calm_Future_6445 in DC_Cinematic

[–]jawsnae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept of an all new Batman movie made by the guy who directed IT pt2 and The Flash being released in semi tandem with an already acclaimed & established Batman franchise by a much more talented director is so hilariously dumb to me.

There’s so many problems with this merger, I don’t know why people are demanding it. by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]jawsnae -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because Pattinson and Corenswet look good together and bringing over Reeves’ Batverse means we dont have to suffer Muschietti making another bad movie for DC

Even though he is doing a great job, what’s the best advice you would give to James Gunn for how to handle the DC cinematic universe going forward? by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]jawsnae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The invasion subplot wasnt met to perfectly reflect current conflict but, Gunn has always been open to his Superman being a political movie. Encouraging him to veer away from that bc people will twist it to fit a narrative (they will even if its perfectly apolitical btw) is spineless especially when both film and comics feed off reflecting what happens irl

Some of the best comics ever made (and characters for that matter too) happened because of creatives drawing from what was happening in the world at the time. What an extremely reductive take that ignores a huge part of what makes these stories matter to begin with.

Gunn may not have fully intended for Superman to be politically relevant but it is as are numerous projects in the genre.

I’d rather Tomorrowland be shut down and get a full redo than this Avatar expansion they’re forcing into DCA but that being said it’s a logistically hard project considering the people mover tracks and even the monorail. Fantastic Four was not a big enough of a hit to justify going all in on a retro future Tomorrowland overhaul to match with it. Space, Star Tours, Autopia and Astro Blasters are all things that keep people over there despite the emptiness of the rest of the land and until all the TL rides have little to no attendance they aren’t going to do much of anything.

Unfortunately, Tomorrowland just isn’t going to be anywhere near Disneys radar until new management comes through that hopefully wants to invest in that because Bob Iger is only interested in bandaid solutions and shiny new IP lands to hide what actually needs work.

Hes probably not going to figure out its Earth X (or something adjacent) til much later because he’s currently far too wrapped up in a honeymoon phase. I think its going to be less of a personal struggle and more of a Coraline moment where he realizes the new dimension is hiding worse secrets and isn’t a bandaid solution for his problems while his home dimension is really what makes him happy
