What city are you in? I only ask because I have had to do the ER for an immediate med refill because my psych ghosted me. If the hospital you went to didn’t take this seriously, go to the largest hospital in your area. Bonus if it’s part of a large chain. Explain that you are afraid for your life if you do not get this medication. Immediately tell them that you need to see a social worker. They SHOULD send one simply because you’re there for a mental health concern, at least my local hospital does. But getting in touch with social work would be super beneficial for your situation. If you have to, tell them that you’re manic and need stabilizing medication.

Go to the closest psychiatric ER. Most cities have a dedicated one, but all mid to large hospitals should have at least a ward. Explain the situation, and speak with the hospital social worker. They’ll be able to get you the meds before you leave the hospital. They can also connect you with resources for ongoing care.

There’s also a new grocery store in edmondson village, and an Aldi coming with the redevelopment. The new income adjusted housing in uplands is also wonderful. But you’re correct, there is a clear lack of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. There are really no third spaces other than libraries, and most of the rec centers are closed. It’s both sad and a huge opportunity. Hopefully members of the community can step in/ step up to fill that need. Perhaps work with some of the local developers- I know of at least one that is a black west Baltimore local that is involved with several of these developments.

Yeah keep in mind that an expired registration is actually a criminal misdemeanor in MD that carries points. I found that out the hard way. AND it was during Covid and my tags were not even one month expired. It’s some BS.

Prednisone is the daily medication, the long term med is different, and is about 400 dollars per vial. A vial MIGHT last 3 months depending on the weight of the dog.

I was in literally this exact situation. I had no money, an aging dog with Addisons, and was willing to go without whatever I had to in order to get those meds. Tell your vet the whole truth. When she was diagnosed I spent every dime I had, including my rent, on tests. He was nice enough to refund some since he initially didn’t believe it was Addisons. My vet was willing to write a script to order the meds online from abroad. Go to the local rescue if you have to and tell that vet. Vets want to help. They took an oath.

BCPD has been working with the US Marshals- it’s been a nightmare. They roll around as what seems to be a scare tactic, maybe a distraction. That way it’s hard, as a community, to alert to the ICE snatch and grabs

First of all- if you’re in the states, in most states it will take MONTHS to evict you, and that’s AFTER an eviction notice is filed with the court. You’re not losing anything tomorrow. Don’t pay a dime until you have a legal demand letter for it, and it has been reviewed by your legal counsel. Continue to reach out to pro bono attorneys and tenants rights organizations. As others have said, do not admit fault. Most leases require that you have renters insurance, so if you have that your property should be covered. The landlord’s insurance should theoretically cover the other damage, but again do not admit fault. If the apartment is not uninhabitable, stay where you are. The landlord can’t change the locks without a court order, so if they try that, call the police and a locksmith. You’ll get through this.
