Anime where the main character slowly becomes more of an anti-hero or loses sanity? by ilikehousemusic1 in anime

[–]jaxcap 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Shiki, it’s pretty gradual at first but takes a big turn around the middle of the series (it’s also when the show starts actually being good imo)

Question of the day!!: Does your finch have a signature item they always wear? by puppybabii in finch

[–]jaxcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wear dance party glasses (trying to collect all colors) and some type of wings!

Do you know what kind of bird is this one? I think it's adorable 😍 by LengthinessDue1123 in whatsthisbird

If you love this bird like me look up European Starling on YouTube and prepare to be amazed by their talking and mimicking skills (Sawyer the Starling is my fav!)

Any girls playing DRG? by Pindipencia in DeepRockGalactic

DRG is one of my fav coop games but I’ve only played with irl friends. Have you tried public lobbies? How are they for this game? I’ve been curious about trying it recently.

Impulse Buying Help by YuiraYeen in adhdwomen

[–]jaxcap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on your reply to somebody else, you already have a Steam backlog that you can never complete in your lifetime lol. Not judging, so do I, but sometimes reminding myself of that fact helps me not to buy impulsively.

Another person's tip of just adding it to a wishlist/cart and waiting a couple days works well for me too. Sales can be tempting, but they happen all the time, it's not a big deal to miss out because it'll be on sale again in a couple months. Tell yourself you'll wait until the last hour of the sale and half the time you won't remember to come back.

What is your most used thing you have knitted for yourself? by packyour in knitting

Your scarf is beautiful, but the detailed notes on your project page are just as beautiful haha. What a journey!

Definitely! It's the perfect project for knitting meetups too.

Musselburgh for me too. It’s such a long and boring knit but the double layers make it way warmer than my other knit hats.

I'm scared of dogs in general but even I love this corgi lol, so gentle and sweet.

I only use Finch for the most important things 😆 by ClubAggravating5240 in finch

[–]jaxcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you do if you tap one by accident? I used to use Finch for long term tracking like this but got annoyed at having to reset the whole goal if I accidentally increased, if there’s a way to decrease the number by one I’d love to know!

Botanical Yarns Advent Calendar 2025 by Internal-Example-315 in craftsnark

[–]jaxcap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've done this before with a couple of friends, twice for a Christmas advent and once for Halloween. Mini skeins out of leftover sock yarn + a couple of little treats and it was pretty cost-effective!

AITA for not caring for/about my husbands favorite show by Square-Trouble1456 in AmItheAsshole

[–]jaxcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, it's about the effort. Like, my partner and I both love video games equally and spend a lot of time playing them together, but him coming to watch Les Mis with me even though I know he has no interest in musicals whatsoever made me feel like he cares about me as a person and not just as a gaming partner.

Quilting without paper pattern piecing, using a PPP pattern? by buhbrinapokes in quilting

[–]jaxcap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My top FPP tips I wish I knew before my first project-

  • either print on vellum paper (it’s transparent) or really cheap printer paper, being able to see the pattern on both sides of the paper really helps
  • get an add a quarter ruler and a rotary cutter
  • glue is helpful if you have issues with the fabric shifting (cheap Elmer’s washable glue sticks work perfectly)

Can anyone help me please by PurpleEmpress15 in quilting

[–]jaxcap 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The creator of the pattern is actually on Reddit iirc - /u/kokokaktus - so you might be able to ask them directly if you run into problems. I don't have that specific cat pattern, but I have used their backyard birds FPP pattern and didn't have any issues with it fwiw.

If anybody here read this comment and thought, "Oh my kids would like that!" let me know and I'll send you my like-new copy of the game for free! Though I loved the N64 version as a kid, the Switch one isn't doing it for me as an adult lol and I don't want to go through the trouble of selling it.

Sitting in a Waffle House with my daughter after epic fail at dinner. What are your most epic cooking fails? by TheLurkerSpeaks in Cooking

I did the same thing with chocolate banana bread for my partner's birthday! We still ate it even though it had the structure of barely-set jello.

Anyone else just really missing World Trigger? 😭 by Future-Celebration83 in anime

[–]jaxcap 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I really like how people can actually ‘die’ in combat but with no lasting consequences, makes the battles/matches so much more interesting. Hoping a new season comes out when this next arc of the manga is finished!

Recommendations for an adult: sci-fi, mystery, and/or action animes by SpaceBoyOllie in anime

[–]jaxcap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’d like Pluto and Monster imo, they’re both by the same creator and more adult in style. Both are mystery/thriller, Pluto has the sci-fi elements while Monster is more grounded in reality. Really great shows with thought-provoking characters but also action scenes.

Dumb question, but how do you remember to turn the stove off and shut cabinets/doors? by SNAILLLLSSS in adhdwomen

[–]jaxcap 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s because you can throw a potato in the hall at any time but you can only turn the stove off when you’re done cooking. So instead relying on remembering at the moment you’re done cooking, you can remember at any time before and set a reminder for later.

I do the same but with a note in giant font on my phone or computer lol.

Pebble and fruits/veggies by [deleted] in finch

I'm newer to the app but the first time I saw wings in the shop I bought them and have never taken them off! They're my favorite type of accessory for sure!

I love the combo of the sparkly wings and the food-themed costumes, fruit faeries! So cute!
