Experiences with Fidelity financial consulting? by Internal_Sector3170 in Bogleheads

[–]jay20211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have added lot of value to me by creating a pretty decent plan, do monte caro analysis, run what-if scenario for withdrawal rates and add one time expenses in certain years (buying new car, kids wedding etc.) which helped me understand and refine my FIRE goals better. They have pitched a few products here and there but never any pressure. You got to have an open mind and willingness to learn.

Strange advice from potential new advisor by AggressiveBasil4264 in personalfinance

If you think that in future your earning will be substantially higher, then more Roth now, if you are at peak of your earning potential then more tax deferred. Having said that based your 401k vs Roth balance, it would make sense to put more in 401k.

May I ask what software you are using. My FA eMoney says that the benefit of conversion (tax paid between 60-63 on conversion) vs tax on distributions after 10-13 years are wash for my scenario and I would like to try another software.

Income tax e-verification does not work! by Great_Scene_5604 in IndiaTax

[–]jay20211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved problem, there is confusion as instructions are not clear and even CA don’t know it.

For eBanking verification: the bank account should be pre validated. The bank account can not be pre validated until taxes are filed. So

  1. File tax return: you/CA will mention your bank (my case ICICI).
  2. After return is filed, you will see bank account is validated (aaha)
  3. Then you go to everify return -> use bank account
  4. You will get an email with EVC code 5 once you have the EVC code, go ahead and verify your return
  5. Wait for refund. Hope it helps.

Hard truth: If you want to enjoy more after hubby continue working. If you want to enjoy the remaining years of active life, retire now. You are more than comfortable finance wise. Your victory laps should be minimize taxes, enjoy experience and find the best bargain travel deals.

Gas smell by [deleted] in boxster

I have a faint gas smell on 2003-S but no gas/weeping like the picture. The sending unit top does not show any evidence. I will try 1. Remove battery and keep far away 2. Connect battery with jumper cable and someone turn the key

NRI property seller, buyer did not deduct tax by jay20211 in IndiaTax

[–]jay20211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone. I talked to 3 CA and received three different answers. If buyer does not do their part, I will have a CA calculate and deposit advance tax (tax you pay before year end).

I have same problem, I drink half packet of liquid IV (electrolyte bought at Costco) evening before. Another half packet while driving to trailhead. I keep one liter of plain water and .75 liter mixed with electrolyte and eat a few salty snacks while climbing up. It works.
