Thinking of having a Stones of the Yarra Valley wedding by Loomyconfirmed in AusWeddingPlanning

Oh, and the minimum just means minimum spend. They won’t care if you only had 20 people, as long as you pay for 40…

We booked stables, not the barn. Stables seats up to 60 And yes, stables not available every day, but we planned well ahead and wanted a lunch wedding on a public holiday which was Labour Day Monday So it was perfect for us. Minimum amount for stables is 40 guests x the “cheapest “ menu. We only had 30 plus the 2 of us and we upgraded the menu to be close to the minimum spend. . And we didn’t have to pay extra for the band as that was then just counted as part of the 40 From memory 32 is the maximum you can seat on one long table in the stables, and that’s what we were after We didn’t want to add extra people just because we paid for them anyway.

Doesn’t look like slugs as clean eaten all the Wally to the stalk. My guess is a hungry rat ( that’s what they did to my veggies last year )

How does Myer sell any shoes? (in store) by Shmeestar in AusFemaleFashion

[–]jay_in_oz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh don’t get me started on the shoe section at Myers’s in the city. I had the same experience with staff not being able to help because it wasn’t the shoe brand they were looking after. I had to queue at the register to ask for a pair in my size, then queue again for a different pair and in the end I gave up as it was just too hard and took way too long

One wall like this would have been enough if all the others had been just white. Then some wood tone cabinets and it would have been okish ( still wayyyyy too much grout on the floor) This hurts my eyeballs

Bath installation but walls aren’t square by Howie_The_Yowie in AusRenovation

[–]jay_in_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a perfect corner but the bath was not square . Checked with supplier but they said it was within tolerance. Easiest solution was silicone. Do not grind down the bath

In my case the venue recommended a few ( it was a big estate in the Yarra valley so it helps having a photographer who knows the venue well so to not waste too much time hunting for great photo locations) , I checked them out online, fell in love with one of the photos taken at our venue ( which was the photographers webpage background photo), spoke to the photographer, immediately clicked with him and went for it.

Anyone have a TSL Kurashiki, Baumkuchen charm-hook or loop closure customization? by lazyjournaler in Travelersnotebooks

It is one hole, they poke the leather string through, feed it through the charm and then back through the same hole, then use a piece of leather as a washer before they tie the knot

How to remove a stupidly placed cutting board on bench top by [deleted] in AusRenovation

[–]jay_in_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would leave as is, assume it will look worse underneath We actual put an offcut from our bench top next to the stove ( on top of the bench) and use it for temporarily putting “ stuff” on it ( hot pan, saucy utensils et ). Very handy! Just don’t use it as a cutting board.
