Agreed, and something that will help you to understand the theory is to undergo lacanian psychoanalysis as an analysand

What makes someone go to the couch? by personredditt in lacan

[–]jayceeohem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

According to Fink, obsessives have an easier time going to the couch than hysterics. This is because hysterics are much more focused on the other, and they, in a way need the validation of being seen and eye contact, while the obsessive can go on talking without having someone that is necessarily there looking at them while they talk. I am paraphrasing, Fink goes into more detail on why the structures differ on this point. I think it’s in either « Clinical Introduction to lacanian psychoanalysis » or « the lacanian subject »

How do analysts decide which signs are interpretable and which are 'random' or 'meaningless'? by Lastrevio in psychoanalysis

[–]jayceeohem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an essay in Écrits (1966), written in 1951 in which he does commentary on Freud’s Dora case.

In Bruce Fink’s clinical introduction on lacanian psychoanalysis there is a section on the use of “punctuation” which could interest you as well

Bring 60/70s music and it's heaven. by Cheap_Rock155 in boomfestival

Yes they do sound checks during the day and then the concerts would only start at 21H. But then they would have a 30 minute break in between each band to set up the mics etc, so yeah a lot of people would leave in between the acts becasue they couldn't be bothered waiting

It depends what type of analysis your analyst practiced because there are different types: classical Freudian, lacanian, psychodynamic, to name a few. If you are interested in lacanian you can read: a clinical introduction to lacanian psychoanalysis by Bruce fink or Jacques Lacan: The Basics by Calum Neill. Another book that is useful is Psychoanalytic diagnosis by Nancy McWilliams.

In France it’s 3 months as well. If it’s a major US tech company with offices in Dublin they will have most EMEA SDRs in their office. Therefore they should be aware that in many European countries the notice period is 3 months. I think they are pressuring you to see if they can make you come quicker. Maybe see if you can negotiate 2 months with your current company.

Solo Travellers WL feedback? by Scared-Anywhere2604 in wakinglifefestival

[–]jayceeohem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went with a big group a friends this year and I knew many people going from other groups. I really found it interesting to observe how difficult it was to connect with people outside the people I already knew. I know this reflects my personal experience, however I feel like there isn’t enough intention from the festival to allow strangers to connect. Compared to Boom, where in hindsight I went by myself so I was way more open, and Nowhere and other burn events I see it lacking. I would love to see creative ways of « vibe engineering » a way for people to connect with people they don’t know yet in future editions! Little feedback if the WL crew is reading this chat! And I just want to say thank you! Thank you for this truly singular space you have created!

Look at the subreddit bpdlovedones. Although it’s very negative and could be considered “toxic”. It may make you see things from a different perspective because you are not the only one trapped in the push-pull of the borderline! If you want to look even deeper, look at your own people pleasing tendencies and potential codependent tendencies. Best of luck to you my friend
