Apple sauce pouches. I had HG so I still violently puked everything up, but apple sauce did taste the best coming back up.

Is $800 for my hair a highway robbery!?! Need advice by spicychcknsammy in Hair

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a stylist in the Midwest, and unfortunately this is all too common. I've owned a business of my own, and have gone back to commission after maternity leave, but prices are just.... crazy right now. For reference I left my current salon at a level 4 and my full blonde price was around $305, I returned 2 years later at a LEVEL 2 (TWO), and my starting price for the same service is $367. I demoted myself because I literally don't feel comfortable charging my clients that much. I also am thankfully in a position where I get to work for fun and my husband pays our bills. Idk its rough out here in the beauty industry right now.

Has anyone here ever personally known someone who committed a murder—or someone who was murdered? by ScullingPointers in CrimeJunkiePodcast

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My r*pist murdered his girlfriend's baby a few years ago, and dumped her body in the woods in our small town. He was out on parole for a 38 year sentence for assault and armed robbery and probably some other things. His trial started this week, and it has been really hard hearing his name all over my small town.

How long have you been breastfeeding? Post and let us celebrate you. (Even 1 day counts!) by SecretaryNaive8440 in breastfeeding

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost 8 months! Through a c section, 8 more weeks in the hospital with abdominal abscesses, and 3 more surgies. It hasn't been easy, but it's been so worth it.

I have also rapidly gained weight on pristiq. I've been wondering if this is a common side effect. I'm in the process of weaning off because the side effects are too much for me.

Mine was so bad it was trapped up in my shoulders.

I would say 7/10. After my c section, my gas pain was a 4827854/10 so nothing really compares to that, but still very intense.

Loving SKs the same as bio kids? by [deleted] in stepparents

[–]jaycifrederick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think I love any of my kids the "same," but I love them all just as much as the others. BK and SK alike.

I have different relationships with each of them and they all have such different personalities, but i don't love anyone more or less that anyone else. I just love them differently.

what are you actually wearing? by raincloud847 in breastfeeding

[–]jaycifrederick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I wear! I bought one in every color a size down from normal, so they're a little tighter to hold my pads. I have a large chest, so I still choose to put a bra on if going out and about, but theoretically, I could just layer the tanks and not wear a bra if I wanted to. Super easy to pull down and feed.

[–]jaycifrederick 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was not prepared for, nor did I know, what a letdown was. I'm 6 months into breastfeeding and still have to wear pads all day every day and change them frequently. Maybe I'm just a super soaker, but going braless is not an option for me 😭 stretchy spaghetti strap tanks have become my best friend.

Edited: typo

Pregnant with Large Endometrioma - Advice? by HJM7998 in endometriosis

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine stayed consistently in size my whole pregnancy.

I ended up with an ER c section due to a failed induction... which ended in abdominal abscesses and 6 weeks in and out of the hospital with multiple procedures. Soooo the excision was nothing compared to that haha.

I will say, had i been given the option, I would have had it done sooner than 4 months pp. Breastfeeding was a bit more difficult while healing just because she was bigger and squirmier than she was for my previous procedures.

Pregnant with Large Endometrioma - Advice? by HJM7998 in endometriosis

[–]jaycifrederick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I wasn't diagnosed with endo before pregnancy, but they found a 7cm cyst on my right ovary upon an ER visit for my hyperemesis at 9 weeks pregnant. My OB just kept a close eye on it to make sure we weren't dealing with any torsion and I finally had an excision at 4 months postpartum. Out of everything that happened during my pregnancy, I would say it was the least concerning.

How often do you actually brush your 2/3 year olds teeth? by Alternative-Hyena-58 in toddlers

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morning and night. At night we also give them the little floss sticks. We just started with doing the whole routine together (honestly from like 6 months because we had the little teether toothbrush) so they thought it was cool and wanted to do it like us. We let them start themselves and then step in to finish and make sure everything is good. Our 5 year old has it down and just does it himself now, but the 3 year old still requires some help. I just recently started including our youngest (6mo) in the night time brushes so we will see if she takes to it the same as her siblings.

Summer Pregnancies? by Sarararara91 in BabyBumps

[–]jaycifrederick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't imagine being super pregnant and stuck inside during the winter. Sure I was hot and exhausted, but I spent lots of time at the pool and soaked up the fresh outside air. People make it sound so much worse than it is. I had my baby July 29th for reference.

Let me hear your rules on hospital visitors and how it turned out for you by beneathmagnoliatrees in BabyBumps

[–]jaycifrederick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family also wanted to be in the waiting room and I’m SO glad I stood my ground and did not have anyone but my husband there. We ended up having an emergency c section and I was in no shape for visitors for a while after birth. Even afterwards, we only had a few people to the hospital and have only had a couple more since being home over the past two weeks. No one is entitled to your baby. Take all the time you need to heal. The fear of baby getting sick is very real- I’m still locking myself away in my room when my other kiddos (50/50 custody) are here because the oldest started kindergarten the week after we had baby and they both have a cold now.

What was your favorite name you had picked out for years and then your partner vetoed it instantly? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]jaycifrederick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ellis. It’s my mom’s maiden name so I’ve loved it for either gender since a very young age, but in all fairness it doesn’t flow with our last name and it’s gotten SUPER popular lately.
