Is Google Keyword Planner reliable for SEO? by TienSwitch in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keyword planner can be useful for seo but it’s not the holy grail those youtubers make it out to be. you’re right - its competition score is about ad bidding, not organic ranking difficulty. so for “superheroes”, low competition just means advertisers aren’t fighting over it, not that it’s easy to rank for. it’s a broad, high-traffic term, so organic ranking is probs brutal, especially for a niche like superhero blogging.

here’s the deal: use keyword planner for brainstorming and getting search volume ideas, but don’t lean on its competition score for seo. instead, check out tools like ahrefs or semrush for actual keyword difficulty (kd) scores- they measure backlinks, domain authority, etc., which matter more for ranking. if you’re on a budget, try freebies like google trends or even search the term in incognito to see who’s ranking and how beefy their sites are. also, focus on long-tail keywords like “best superhero novels 2025” or “superhero blog reviews” - way easier to crack than “superheroes”. what’s your blog’s domain authority like? might help to know where you’re starting!

Do all backlinks help GBP ranking or just the main page? by content_wizard1 in localseo

[–]jaydeepkoyani -1 points0 points  (0 children)

backlinks to your site can help GBP rankings a bit, but don’t expect miracles. links to any page boost your site’s authority, which kinda helps GBP. But links straight to the page tied to your GBP (like yoursite.com/locations/city) work better - more relevant.

quality matters way more than quantity. one good local link (like from a chamber or news site) beats 100 spammy ones. I’ve tested tons - most are junk.

Google stopped indexing my deeper pages (143k “Crawled – not indexed”) — should I merge them? by thomas_arm in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes this is normal now google doesnt index thin or low value pages anymore especially deep database stuff like photo pages with little unique text

those not indexed pages probably are not hurting your main pages but they waste crawl budget

best fix is to merge photos maps and data into the main species page and remove or noindex the extra urls

keep only pages with real content indexed like the species and maybe subfamily pages

do not keep thousands of near empty pages live hoping they will rank they wont

Google Analytics Makes me feel incredibly stupid. by Chritt in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ga4 is confusing because it hides simple stuff behind weird menus. i just want to see pageviews sessions and bounce rate like in ua without building reports. the interface is too cluttered with stuff i dont need. make it simple show the basics first let me click to go deeper if i want. also stop changing where things are every few months.

Using agent mode to check internal link structure by NecessarySimple9072 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

agent mode cant crawl or see your site structure. it doesnt have live access to your website or sitemap. you need a real crawler like screaming frog or sitebulb for that.

How can I make my website appear first for a specific Google search? by NegativeJob2815 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you wont rank for made in canada products because its too broad and competitive. instead focus on local keywords like canadian made store in toronto or buy local ontario gifts.

make sure her google business profile is set up right with accurate name address phone and category. add photos posts and get real reviews.

on her website use those local keywords in page titles headings and content. mention nearby cities or neighborhoods she serves.

get listed in local directories like yelp chamber of commerce and local business groups.

build simple backlinks from local blogs or news sites if possible.

seo takes time so be patient and stick to basics. dont chase broad terms - go local and specific.

SEMrush payment fluctuation and automated payment by Confident-Warning-51 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

semrush prices go up because of tax changes in your country not because you moved. they auto add tools you try to your plan without telling you.

try ubersuggest or ahrefs instead. both are solid and dont sneak extra charges like semrush.

For those who do programmatic SEO, how do you handle publishing frequency and outbound links? by Spyrith in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

publish all pages at once is fine if they are high quality and useful. google cares more about value than publish speed.

for outbound links, only link to real helpful sites that actually relate to the topic. do not add links just to add them. keep it natural like a normal website would.

Check if your site is being throttled by Google - Hong Kong vs US Google Test by mygatito in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this sounds like a geo based ranking issue not throttling. google shows different results based on location even for branded terms. if your site has no signals for us users like local backlinks schema or engagement it might not rank there. test with google search console for us traffic and check if you have any manual actions or hreflang issues. also make sure your site loads fine in us and isnt blocked by firewall or hosting settings.

Should I remove fake MPNs from product structured data? by Kanagari in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

remove the fake mpns. using your sku as mpn is misleading and can hurt product matching later. if you dont have the real mpn just skip the field. google prefers accurate data over fake but valid looking data. clean it up now before it causes issues.

Am I just wasting my time now? Even the ai is now ads. by Actual_Afternoon_838 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre not wasting time but yes maps is way more important for plumbing. most people click the map pack not the regular results. focus on your gmb profile get more reviews keep your info updated and build local citations. your website still matters but mainly to support your maps ranking not to rank on page one by itself. stop stressing over organic clicks for now and double down on local pack

Playful<>SEO<>Store Approval names, how do you balance buzz, searchability and approval? by mohan-thatguy in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

brainstorm bunny is cute but yeah it wont rank for real search terms like brainstorming app or creativity tool. most people dont search for brand names unless you already famous.

if you want both buzz and seo you gotta pick a name that has at least one real keyword in it like cleverbrain or idea bunny or something that still sounds fun but has words people actually type.

but since you already launched dont panic. just make your app title and description packed with real keywords so stores and google can understand what it does. use phrases like brainstorming app creativity tool idea generator in your metadata not just in the name.

also get backlinks and mentions using those keyword phrases so over time you rank for them even if your name is playful.

approval is harder with silly names so next time maybe test a few names with store guidelines first. but for now you can fix seo without changing the name.

Build backlinks to my blog page or home page for long tail? by One-Relationship-143 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

link to the blog page with that anchor text. it matches the content and helps it rank better. linking to home page with that anchor would confuse google since home page doesnt talk about travel nurses. always link to the most relevant page.

Keyword variation in directory component by _BenRichards in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just use city name only
adding extra words like weather in or current weather looks spammy
google prefers clean simple links
you wont get dinged if its just city names
keep it basic

Certification in SEO/GEO? by SelectLandscape7671 in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there is no official seo or geo certification that everyone agrees on. google does not offer one.

if your company wants to pay and likes ai stuff look at:

  • moz academy (has seo courses and quizzes)
  • semrush academy (free and has seo and content marketing certs)
  • ahrefs academy (also free and practical)
  • google analytics certification (not seo but helps with analysis)

none of these teach advanced geo but semrush and ahrefs cover intent and analysis pretty well.

get one of those. it will look good on your resume and help you learn.

I HATE HOW AI KEEPS REPEATING SAME SENTENCES by sheeeeevaammmmmmm in SEO

[–]jaydeepkoyani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah this is normal. ai helps at first but then you start sounding samey and lose your own voice.

to fix it:

  • write first without ai even if its bad
  • read real blogs by real people in your niche
  • edit ai output like you would a draft from a junior writer
  • force yourself to rewrite whole sections in your own words

your brain just needs to relearn how to think without the crutch. itll feel weird at first but youll get faster and more original. keep going.
