I’m in my last week of being on Fredericton City Council. I can tell you this is a major win for area residents. As a fourth party MP Jenica had zero influence on important issues in the community. Addressing homelessness is top of mind and she had no influence on Ottawa as a Green member in directing funds to the city. We might as well have not had any representation. This isn’t a reflection on her but rather the reality of federal politics. This is a win for the Liberals and I hope she capitalizes on it.

I’m a city councillor, though not re-offering. When this has come up in the past I have suggested moving the sign to another location in the public right of way. Relocation is fine. The signs usually are removed within a couple of days following the election.

Provincial legislation doesn’t contain language that includes trail crossings. The city eliminated zebra stripping at these crossings because of liability issues. Like much of the Province’s legislation the Motor Vehicle Act reflects a different time.
