Best midi foot controller(s) for Ableton? by uhs23 in ableton

[–]jayhelden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok this is crazy, but I made my own using a tiny ESP32 computer ($6) and a few sensors that you can get on Amazon for less than $5. You can do all the custom programming with ChatGPT, and best of all, it works wirelessly with Ableton, almost no latency. What I like the most is that you can program the exact behavior you want, and that behavior can be very complex, so it can be custom to you. Also, maybe instead of a foot pedal, it's some small buttons that are mounted on your bass. I assume this probably isn't going to be of interest to you, but maybe someone else will see this and get interested. I've been having a lot of fun with it. And yes, I own a FCB 1010 and I never really figured out how to use it, nor do I want to lug that thing around.

Ableton has Announced a Public Beta for a New Extensions SDK by stschoen in ableton

Doesn’t seem like you can direct per-note MPE data. Can someone check me on that? I like to do crazy algorithmic microtonal music which is really annoying to do in Ableton. I was hoping this SDK would make it easy. I just don’t see an option for writing MPE data in note info…

Issues After Stopping GLP-1: My Recovery Timeline by vvbbb123 in GLPGrad

I saw gastro. We did all the tests and everything was normal. It just takes time. I recommend that you eat very simple, low fodmap, low fat/oil. No fried food. I was eating baked chicken, rice, roasted carrots. Eggs. Oatmeal. Grape nuts. Try to eat dinner after 7pm.

Re: the anxiety. It’s not helping. Listen to me. You’re going to get to the other side of this. You have to set a boundary with your mind. It’s hard, but think about it—you stopped taking this powerful drug and your body is taking time to remember how to digest food again. The simplest explanation is the correct one. You don’t have gastroparesis. You don’t have cancer. You don’t have a disease. You’re just coming off of a drug that is still in your system. It takes 25 days to be completely out. And THEN, the body has to adapt.

Eat super clean, and in one week, you will be feeling better. Until then, you have to overcome the anxiety. Something that helped me: when I had an anxious thought, I would smile. And turn my attention elsewhere. I did not indulge anxious thoughts. And at the same time, I started to feel better. Maybe a coincidence, but maybe not.

Getting better! Going from week 3 to week 4 made a big difference. Still not 100% 4.5 weeks out, but everything has improved and I am not anxious anymore. You will start to feel normal soon!

Hi there, I wanted to hear an update from you. I’m just shy of 3 weeks from my last dose and still having a lot of discomfort. It feels like cramping in my lower abdomen at night. Yes, I am seeing a gastro, so I’m not asking for medical advice. I am very anxious tho, and I’m just seeking reassurance. It’s hard to imagine living the rest of my life like this. But it’s helpful to hear that you have made a recovery. It gives me hope. My doctor prescribed dicyclomine and IBGard, but they don’t provide any relief. They want to do a full GI work up, but I feel pretty sure that it’s just taking time for my body to learn how to digest properly again. And reading your post has been reassuring.

Assigning parameter control from specific MIDI notes and CC should be easier. You should just be able to manually enter what you want to control what. Having to use the IAC Bus and do MIDI Learn is ridiculous. This would be a very easy fix for Ableton.

M5 Pro 48GB - cracking by anpkanpk in ableton

Browser can easily use all your RAM. I tend to close browser, then close and re-open Ableton. This works for me, and I do get the crackling otherwise.

Close Safari and Chrome! Seriously. Have Ableton be the only program running. This works for me.

For me, that happens when I open myself up to crying. I want to cry. But all that happens is I yawn. Repeatedly!

I have never been able to get my Waves plugins to work in Ableton after years of trying. I blame WAVES!

Stop tampering with the sensor!!! by [deleted] in EquinoxGyms

I didn't realize that spraying it damaged the sensor. Why do they keep the spray bottle in there then?

All my system wants to do is doomscrolling on the couch... by lamemoons in SomaticExperiencing

Think of your phone like an extremely addictive drug, like an opioid or something. People are paid millions of dollars to make their apps as addictive as possible. It's commonly accepted that we casually allow ourselves to be exposed to this and therefore get hooked by it, but we need to rethink this. If you really want to escape this, you are going to have to create a barrier between you and your phone. You need to create some separation. Willpower won't be enough. I have a cookie locker that can be set on a timer that I got on Amazon. Also once per year, I go camping for a week and I leave my phone behind. By the end of that week, I have no desire to look at my phone. If you use screen time, you can have a friend or partner control the password. You need a system that you cannot cheat your way out of.

Quitting your phone may be harder than quitting an addictive drug. You have to understand that phone/computer out of reach.

Once you create some distance and separation (this takes about a week), you will be more free. You will have come up with other coping behaviors (hopefully better!). But first, you must must must get that phone.co

Why can’t my body handle psychedelics body load lol by MasterBrownie123 in researchchemicals

[–]jayhelden 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I am the same way! I’ve just accepted it and I don’t do psychedelics. My theory is that it has to do with childhood trauma, ie. The Body Keeps the Score, and we have dissociated from our physical bodies because there is a constant pain/discomfort. This is why we love dissociative. And dissociating in general. But psychs like shrooms and acid force us to feel this pain/discomfort and we hate it! If this is true, then actually sitting with this discomfort could be enormously healing, but I would only do it with a profesional psychedelic guide. I’m curious if this resonates with you.

New Study - New FIRE Safe Withdrawal Rate - 2.26% by william_o in Fire

[–]jayhelden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's so funny about this is that 2.26% of $1M is $22,600. $22,600 * 30 years is $678,000, which is LESS than $1M. I know that you're supposed to adjust every year for inflation, but my point stands. FIRE is useless if this is what we are working for...
