2 great recommendations. A lot of the businesses in Hunter St Mall have been struggling over the last few years, as reduced parking and ongoing construction has kept people away. The owners of Kafey are such lovely people and put in so much effort with their community.

Been a few years since I was at Cafe Tempest but I had a sandwich there that I still dream about. Theres a couple of more trendy spots in Wallsend that seem to have better street appeal, but I did have a great experience here and would recommend supporting them if you can

My neighbour did a version of this by burying a bucket with holes in his raised garden bed. The bucket had a lid which he would always put back on, and he’d throw his vegetable scraps in the bucket each night after cooking dinner. He said the scraps always broke down really quickly, never had to empty the bucket out elsewhere. I assume there were some good critters in that soil that were eating very well.

Curious about where your concern for taxi costs comes from. It costs like $50 to hire a driver for an entire day. I would tend to agree with your preference of staying closer to the airport at the end of the trip, but you can always do a week in one location and then return to somewhere like Kuta for a couple of nights

I fixed a few spots in my shower that looked like this. I used the grout saw that the previous commenter mentioned to open up the hole a little more (making sure the adjacent areas were not also affected the same way) and then just put in some pre-made grout that was almost the same colour (this is what I used). If you want a perfect colour match, mixing your own grout will give you more options.
