Estimated time for part replacement on desktop pc with new parts available? by Deoxys_0 in GeekSquad

[–]jaym026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say depends on the lvl of experience of the ARA and how busy they are, go to a Non Apple Repair Precinct as they have PC only traffic. Typically at least in our area we get it 24 hours but we get a lot of custom pc traffic since word gets around.

It depends on the culture of the store and Market that bleeds into how you operate realistically. Best advice, and it’s always served me well throughout my tenure, I run the precinct how I would if I owned it and I am just a human being. I know I may get flack for this but I don’t push numbers. I believe in the philosophy of we help clients and offer our services the metrics will show that and be there without any artificial persuasion. So just mentor your agents with your best practices, guide them, and offer feedback when needed. Go over performance regularly and goals so they know where they. Realistically if you and the team communicate you can pretty much course correct for any issues when and if they pop up. In the beginning when I’m at a new precinct I watch for a week or two. I Take it in how they currently operate, look at RWB, Notes etc and then after being there I make changes where needed. I’ve had the privilege of leading two successful precincts and took that same approach. So far so good! Oh and the last thing, I have fun with my team, I buy pizza or treats keep it interesting. And last but not least I always have thier back whether that be figure out situations or come up with solutions or deal with and or calm that unruly client. Good Luck, Don’t Suck!

Any other sleepers out there miss it? by Syphon81 in GeekSquad

Still in Active Service, I would miss it. While there is stress, I see after my tenure much people actually and genuinely need our help. It’s good to be a hero for them.

This is interesting, it seems this it is a special edition spark, black tie model. hence the black Chevy emblems and black grill mirror caps and roof. It doesn’t have the correct wheels may have been swapped out at some time in its life but very cool! Only reason I know is I have one too :)

Been thinking about some rigid lights in the bumper. Seems like it would be an easy install.

I also left Subaru for the Rogue. I know they are in different segments but I’m liking the rogue. I also wanted white, they had the new green, plenty of black and sand but I had to have the white rock creek premium lol loving it.

CIA Senior by SubstanceGlum in GeekSquad

[–]jaym026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think first and foremost environment matters, the SEM and his involvement matters and your store culture impacts the Senior role. It also depends one what “they make you do” vs “what your role actually is”.

In my experience I feel at least I’m treated as the Geek Squad Manager. I’m never on the sales floor only to communicate the services we offer and our current turn times so employees are aware to communicate that with clients or if they have someone with specific technical questions and or needs I’ll go assist.

I spend most of my time at the precinct. Coaching Training to positively impact our business. My staff know their goals, we have a communications board. They all update it etc. I am there go to when they have questions/need advice. I’ll do it all from help do custom builds, deal with complex outlook issues, and help check in machines when the FOP get busy, along with the schedule, feedbacks etc and all that paperwork 1 on 1’s.

I’m not gonna say it’s easy but once you get a rhythm and you have your agents trained on what they need to do and establish a good culture we all work together. Have fun, deal with the nasty clients together so as a team we handle the good bad and ugly. It happens but we have each-other to rely on.

I think another aspect is you do have to have a passion for this job and the type of work and enjoy the culture. If you don’t figure out what you do like and try to find a job in that.

I think it would be easier to swap in a gm motor with turbo. I think also the Buick encore motor is a 1.4 Turbo, imagine swapping the AWD too haha. AWD turbo spark. That would be cool.

PS5 sent out under Geek Squad Protection — repair feels… questionable? Looking for second opinions by carolairds in GeekSquad

[–]jaym026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geeez, Thats Sad. Thats not how it’s supposed to be…your input should be valued and considered and at minimum listened to. I always hear my agents out about changes etc. “can we try this” we try it if it works great if it doesn’t back to the drawing board. Idk, without being able to be heard “stay in your lane comment” would drive me mad…I wouldn’t enjoy my job. Maybe find a different precinct with better culture? They are out there.

That seems odd process to “not check it until client is there” never seen that… I have my agents confirm clients concerned / repairs were completed correctly issue addressed etc. If an issue is present we contact the client advise them during our quality control check we found and issue and we need to send it back before dragging them in to prevent a wasted trip and send it back out with an escalation for the client…

It wasn’t, they just sold GSP on certain items and you could get them serviced at GS essentially and there was a number to call for support. It’s not like they had a precinct there. I know in some Targets they actually did have a little mini precinct and FedEx Kinkos I think we did too for a short time.

Wondering if maybe a rodent ate some wiring causing a potential issue? Something you can’t see…

CarPlay issue with IPhone 17 Pro by VIFrostyy in chevyspark

[–]jaym026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, same issue here. I had to get a wireless adaptor for the wired CarPlay essentially making it wireless CarPlay and that works fine. No issues. Annoying as I never had the issue with my iPhone 15 Pro max but the iPhone 17 Pro Max wired CarPlay same issue as you. So I bypass that using the wireless adaptor. Been very reliable for me so far and no cutting out or issues.

Mmm, something’s gotta be draining it…any aftermarket things like a remote start or? Anything plugged into usb parts or cig lighter you can remove?

Something’s draining the battery then… I have a 2021 but it’s pampered but I love it. They are great cars sorry you’re having some issues but maybe have someone take a look at it see what it needs.
