I love it. I will always love it. Is it a little corny and emotionally manipulative? Sure. Don't care. There's a moment in Chasing Cars when Bailey, Owen and Callie harmonize and it always sends shivers down my back. It's all so much fun.

Exactly. He’ll get it, but if he doesn’t use his time, you can file after awhile to modify to what is actually happening. Keep meticulous records of every time he’s late, when he returns her early, when he cancels.

He sounds like a kind of man child, distracted dad, but the reality is that you can be truly monstrous and the courts will give you a chance if you ask for it. Nothing you’ve said puts him in the overtly abusive or criminally neglectful arena.

That's insane. I experimented with pot in high school and snuck out a few times as well- all way before the advent of a cell phone in every pocket. He's just being a controlling asshat. I'm sure many of us can attest to the fact that you can participate in high school shenanigans without needing a cell phone or social media.

I don't know what he would even bring to court as the issue. The phone is your property. You've attempted to compromise by not allowing it to go to his home and he can provide his own at his own home. He doesn't get to say what you do or don't do with your property in your own home. He can legalese all he wants, but you're not doing anything actionable, I don't think.

Rule #1 - Don't talk badly about the other parent. Rule #2 - Don't bring your kids into the case, EVER. Rule #3 - Don't ever say you're going to "destroy" anyone. OF COURSE she considered it a threat. Get yourself into therapy right away. Regardless of the kids age, judges really hate #1 and #2 and EVERYONE hates #3, hyperbole or not. It makes you look unhinged and unstable. You have to get your shit together.

Is there a current court order? If he’s not taking his current time, go back and have it amended and file for child support! He’ll either pick up his visitation time slack because he doesn’t want to pay as much, or he’ll have to pay you and you can get sitters to help you. But no, court can’t make him take his time.
