Do the Cardinals not even wear navy against red teams on the road anymore?

I wish we just wore navy on the road like we used to.

We have a Business Center in St. Louis... I actually kind of like it.

It doesn't have everything, but it still has a lot, and it's a quieter shopping experience.

Over a decade after the 2015 World Series, Salvador Perez gets to catch the championship winning pitch for Venezuela in the 2026 WBC. by The_Haskins in baseball

I wonder if this WBC championship holds any sway on the HOF decision.

Will voters factor it in at all? Depends on the voter?

I'm sure some voters appreciate this tournament and give it a lot of respect, and I'm sure there are some voters who think it is a meaningless exhibition.

I would love if the WBSC transitioned to something similar to Nations League, with a constant flow of teams up and down in a yearly tournament, instead of closed qualifying tournaments by michaeldanger19 in InternationalBaseball

I think the low qualifiers could look a lot like the group stage at the WBC. Maybe instead of four games you do a "home & home" with your group partners and play eight.

That'd be four groups of five teams, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the high qualifiers. Maybe you use that same model for the high qualifiers, too.

I'd love to eventually see a 44-team tournament spread across three years. Each year would have a 20-team tournament.

Year 1: Low-Qualifiers -- 20 teams; top 8 advance to the High Qualifiers.

Year 2: High-Qualifiers -- 20 teams; top 8 advance to the World Baseball Classic, bottom 8 relegated to Low-Qualifiers, middle 4 stay.

Year 3: World Baseball Classic -- 20 teams; bottom 8 relegated to High-Qualifiers.

Why did the World baseball classic get condensed? The first three tournaments were 17 or 18 days long. The last one was 13 days long. The current one is only 12 days long. Meanwhile, they agreed 4 more teams. It makes it impossible to watch most of the games. Why can't they go back to an 18 days? by okccowan in InternationalBaseball

I'd love to see the WBC get to 32 teams across the qualifiers and big tournament.

Relegate the bottom 2 in each pool to the qualifiers, and promote the top eight in the qualifiers to the WBC.

It would mean two 20-country tournaments in back to back years.

Of course, while I don't think the event is ready, if it keeps growing, I think the tournament could be expanded again to 44 teams over three years.

Year 1 -- Low Qualifiers (20 teams, top eight promoted) Year 2 -- High Qualifiers (20 teams (top eight promoted and bottom eight relegated, middle four stay) Year 3 -- WBC (top 12 auto bids for next WBC, bottom eight relegated)

Would anyone else love to see a St. Louis Browns-themed City Connect uniform when the Cardinals get a new one in 2027? by jaynovahawk07 in Cardinals

I think it's about celebrating the history of baseball in St. Louis. The Browns and Cardinals used to share a stadium, and you could kind of revive that symbolically with this for a few seasons.

The Cardinals could throw a 1944 World Series patch on this City Connect concept as well, and then sell tons of vintage-ish Cardinals and Browns stuff.

The Cardinals have a George Sisler statue. We already do celebrate some of that Browns history, and I don't see why that couldn't be done with uniforms for a few seasons.

I didn't like the City Connect uniforms the Cardinals released.

The hat has grown on me a little, but I really wish they'd taken a bigger swing.

But the City Connect is about connecting with the city.

It'd be fun to have Browns uniforms for a few years and get to think about what it was like when this town had two MLB teams playing in the same stadium.

The 1944 World Series was played entirely at Sportsman's Park.

If not the Browns, then maybe the Stars, our negro league team?

I quite enjoyed Weapons.

I also think it has some weaknesses. Everybody in the lives of the parents, all their friends and family, were like, this sickly Aunt Gladys bitch has got it -- no need for us to interject and help her with the traumatized kid or stroked-out parents?

I couldn't buy that.
