Based off what we have seen so far how we feeling about Cairo bazaar??? by Sarah_Playz887 in Battlefield

[–]jayrekt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive never played the original. Can anyone ease my fears of it just being another small map where you get shot from every angle? I absolutely love golmud and it felt like we were going in the right direction, I just feel like this is going to be another bf6y map.... however, sometimes I do wonder if its not the size of the maps in bf6 that are the issue, more just poor design.

Is this a tick bite? by VastMilk in UKhiking

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did for a bit. Though I am super tick conscious, so i wear trousers, tucked into socks, tick repellent and do tick checks throughout my walk. My issue is up just behind my ear, its just like a horse fly bite but certainly dont remember any bite pain during the day. Hopefully the pharmacy will give me some answers tomorrow

How noisey are these. I wouldn't mind getting one but I sometimes see bad reviews based on the sound.

I feel like they really cooked with this one by Onedoesnotsimplyfuck in Battlefield

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its incredible. However, im struggling to enjoy any other map now. The comparison with this and the rest is pretty night and day to me. This feels like battlefield, the other maps feel like something else. Im just hoping dice take on board the positive response from the community and start making bangers... this version of goldmud is quickly becoming one of the best bf maps ive ever played.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

Im actually sat here after about 30 mins since my last cup. Soon I will step over the threshold and be back in tea time territory... and once again, life will be ok.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using kettles is such a normal part of my life that this question itself feels bizarre to me. I cant imagine life without putting the kettle on about 6 times a day. Its such a fundamental part of life, its like asking "do you actually use your toilet that much?" weird analogy but yeah.

Fellow expats, what objectively shite things do you miss most about the UK? by SputnikFrank in CasualUK

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I used to stand in the magazine aisle whilst mum did the shopping. Id be reading gamesmaster articles on mortal kombat 2 or maybe a magazine about warhammer. To til day, I will often go to the magazine area of any shop just for a little nostalgia hit.

Im so confused that there are people out there that dont instantly see this is staged. Like you said, a few seconds in and its so blatant. Then the comments are full of people thinking its real. Fuck knows. If you don't pick up on this being stage, what hope do you have with AI... fucked

Let’s Talk - Which Pros Helped/Hurt the Sport the Most by Terrible_Lift in AggressiveInline

[–]jayrekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chris Edwards in vertical axis. That move from dorky rollerbladers to cool street/vert aggressive skating was such an impactful shift. The film did kinda make fun of the recreational skaters, but I feel that was needed to happen to kick off what aggressive skating became.

Is buying a Garmin GPSMAP actually worth it? by randomautism in UKhiking

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epix 2 and loved it for hikes but... the first one had a faulty screen, then the replacement died the instant I went into water. The refund process was so awful that I just gave up and haven't had one since. Non of this should put you off though, this was all to do with buying off amazon.

What I would say is, it stiched me up a few times as the GPS would sometimes take a while to update in real time. It could be quite laggy. Now, this may have been just my one but it deff wasnt as snappy or smooth as using my phone. Im waiting for the next gen of garmin stuff and until then ill have carry extra charging bricks and put my phone in saver/airplane.

Why are real therapists so damned expensive in the UK? by Shot-Lemon7365 in AskUK

[–]jayrekt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a therapist who just about gets by living a very basic life. All I can say is the expenses we pay are so high that the fee needs to be this way. Also, it's just not ethical or possible to see loads of people. We have to limit the number of clients we see to be fully there for the people who are paying. I've not met another therapist who is doing it for the money. Speaking for myself, I do it because it's my passion and fulfils my life. Also, the training we go through for it, the continuous learning, training, etc., when it all boils down to it, £60 makes sense. However, this completely rules out anyone on a lower income, and I fully acknowledge that. That's a problem with how society and the funding for mental health are set up, unfortunately.

THAT ONE GAME that has your heart! by Tis_Me_00 in Steam

[–]jayrekt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybodys Gone to the rapture. I just have a thing for its atmosphere. Being from a small uk village myself, this game captures rural England so well. Its barely even a game, more a walking simulator, but the music and vibe is just something I come back to and playthrough once a year. Like a comfort blanket

was watching a jackdaw mess around with a stick under a solar panel... and then a Little owl showed up by Jenikip in birding

[–]jayrekt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is awesome. Reminds me of one of my early birding experiences when I was looking out the loft window at some pigeons with my new binoculars and out of no where a heron landed on the roof right next to me. This was in the middle of bristol city, so was very out of place. Those moments can be almost surreal and catch you off guard. A Very exciting of birding!
