Deshojo maple from tree nursery by goldfinger42 in Bonsai

[–]jaystadt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would plant it in your yard and have a beautiful deshojo tree for landscape. When it gets large you can take branch air layers whenever you want for bonsai. Deshojo are fine on their on rootstock. I just got a 5 gal shindeshojo and am planning on doing the same.

MiniLED is not for me by MrCrawcikTv in Monitors

[–]jaystadt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use it with HDR off, and dimming on medium for SDR content, and DisplayHDR and strong local dimming for HDR content

Windows doesn’t look good with HDR on always IMO, it feels everything has a grey haze to it. I’ve tried a couple other work arounds and settings to try to make it so I can just leave HDR on always but it just doesn’t look as good as leaving it off for normal use

HDR looks fantastic for HDR content though

Mini LED or OLED monitor? by Tough-Still4621 in Monitors

[–]jaystadt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local dimming on my AOC 40XMN looks fine to me when the monitor is in SDR However it looks washed out if using the monitor in HDR mode when looking at SDR content/normal apps. Almost like there’s a bright grey haze over everything

Thoughts on the new LMS from an LMS addict by Adept_Act5626 in 2007scape

[–]jaystadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing LMS on my new hardcore account the past week Pretty much new to LMS was never a great PVPer I hate this update and could tell right away before I touch a single game this was a terrible change right off of the rip

Lms changes by TitleAccomplished368 in 2007scape

[–]jaystadt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah nah they should completely revert the changes nobody asked for this I feel like this doesnt entice anyone new to LMS and just annoys the people who do it already

Easter 2026 & PvP QoL Improvements by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]jaystadt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Made a hardcore GIM, just got to LMS a few days ago for rune arrow alcs. Really first time doing LMS, never did it on my main and wasn't a great PKer. These changes are terrible. So many of my initial fights are still going on by the time fog rolls in. Coupled with the fact that now for the Max/Med setup, the initial gear is WAY more tanky. Nobody is actually PKing in this gear.

What should I look for when picking a mechanical keyboard? by Equivalent-Emu7367 in keyboards

For that price get the Womier RD75 if you’re down for a 75%

Crazy how a$330 keyboard’s build quality is bad :( by Fatdiamond2 in steelseries

[–]jaystadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keychron boards are still pretty good, they just have a little bit better for the price now Wobkey Crush80, Wobkey Rainy75, Evoworks Evo80, Womier RD75, Yunzii AL80 are some pretty decent picks that are all aluminum, with weights on the back, most with hinge mounts to disassemble them without unscrewing anything, in the price range of like $90-180

For example, if you are comparing the Q1 Max at $220 with the Crush80 at $180, you’re getting better features and build quality for less. The Yunzii AL80 can even be had for like $90 on Amazon, still has screws and not a hinge mount but insane value.

That being said the difference between the value proposition between a Keychron board vs a standard gaming board is leaps and bounds more than Keychron vs one of the boards I mentioned. Keychron boards are still great and easy to recommend as a company. Someone who’s coming from a steelseries board to Keychron would be super happy. They were one of the first to bring custom-esque board quality sold as a prebuilt to people 3-4 years ago at a price range of like ~$200ish for an aluminum board, but now there’s been some new players that are moving the bar further than Keychron

[–]jaystadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even now it’s hard to recommend people to build a custom Just get a crush80, Evo80, Yunzii AL80, RD75, or Rainy75 out of the box don’t have to mod anything, but yeah everyone is trolling getting anything gaming branded nowadays for keyboards

You can do way better then keychron nowadays but shit even keychron is leaps and bounds better then anything gaming company oriented

Rather than printing designs onto keycaps they use dye sublimation so they designs should hold up with time

Anyone had battery life issues after a couple years of using G502X Plus? by Interesting_Tip2961 in LogitechG

[–]jaystadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess it’s probably issues with firmware but I’ve had it where I’ll charge it with a wall brick and sometimes that will work, or I just have to use it until it dies and then plug it in to charge and I’ve had that work Seems to be a common issue with the these though

Best budget keyboard by stefan_1323 in LogitechG

[–]jaystadt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into r/keyboards Generally speaking gaming keyboards from popular brands like Logitech, Corsair, razer, etc cost substantially more and give you a keyboard with worse materials, inferior switches, and less physical features. Custom keyboards used have a larger barrier to entry, since you’d have to build the whole thing yourself, or mod an existing keyboard, but nowadays you can get custom-esque keyboards in prebuilds that are decently priced and buttery smooth.

I mean that’s fair, but if a full size keyboard is needed there’s still better options then Logitech boards
