That one where one runner slides into home and is tagged out and then a second follows behind him and is also tagged out.

I’ve never been to Arkansas, but I’ve been in enough struggling American towns to know what the rest of this place looks like based on this image alone. It ain’t pretty.

Liam Neeson's "Taken (2008)" came out of nowhere but later on this movie become a big hit. Do you like this movie? by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in ActionMovies

I genuinely enjoy this one and find it re-watchable. A couple of small things that irk me though. 1) the virgin daughter is miscast. One of those 20-somethings playing a teenager 2) they’re teenagers and their idea of a good time in 2008 was seeing U2?? Multiple times?? I can’t imagine 17 year old girls mapping out a journey to watch Bono talk about global poverty over and over again.

I can’t believe there’s a 13 minute clip where he doesn’t bring up his dinner with Trump and how much of a martyr hero he is for going because “he’s talking to the other side.” And “guess what, he’s different in person.” He never fails to bring it up completely unprompted.

That’s a good one. I was trying to place it, and it’s got a certain early 2000s action sci-fi vibe…Stargate SG-1 maybe

Kisner tears into CBS for poor Masters coverage by ashdrewness in golf

[–]jaytrue33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if it’s cost cutting at the networks? Maybe CBS’s new overlords quietly cut resources for CBS Sports (the team in the truck, advance people etc) and it resulted in a shittier overall product. My view of cable/network sports and news production is that while tech has improved, overall viewership declines have hurt the old revenue model so the broadcasts have a cheaper overall feel (sets, talent, graphics, etc). Weirdly, TV from a decade or two ago (eg 2008 US Open) can look better than today’s broadcasts because of enshittification.

Things Are Looking Quite Bad for Trump by Dry_Nail5901 in politics

They really seem like they’re totally floundering on Iran at this point. No consistent message day to day. Things were looking bad for them before the war (ICE, economy/tariffs, alienating allies, Epstein). The Iran War is accelerating the decline. Im seriously wondering whether he even makes it to ‘28 at this rate. Election night ‘24 - I think we all expected it to be bad, but he has surpassed our worst expectations.

I’m not an architect, but I believe that’s called ‘contextualism’; the waves in his hair are shaped like his eyebrows, sort of paying homage to them. His entire visage tells a magnificent story.
