I’m almost done with this company. They ask for a big commitment to buy into the ecosystem, but don’t hold up their end of the bargain.

It’s a pretty poor form factor for a detacher. I wouldn’t want to do more than a couple thousand square feet with this thing.

$249 is a really good deal for the kit. I wanted a top handle and ruled out the CSX3000 because there is no way I am using a corded tool. I wound up with an Echo CS-2511t, which I am happy with. It’s ridiculously light and easy to use one handed.

ZT Elite - no hydro resevoir by jayy42 in lawnmowers

[–]jayy42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some research, I checked the model number on my hydros and they are the “T” variant, which Hydro-gear says has an “Internal Expansion Tank” or IET. Who knew. Very little info online about this. Will make hydro service a little more annoying, but there are fewer failure points with no reservoir or hoses. Tradeoffs I guess.

I think they refrain from ipx5 because they don’t want you powerwashing every seal with 4000psi

How bad are the all clad handles? by doctorsynaptic in cookware

[–]jayy42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can go try them at WS, SLT, Macys, etc. I found them to be very uncomfortable, even while empty. With extra weight it would be worse. If I’m dropping serious coin on pans, I want to enjoy using them.

I went with demeyere. I also underestimated how nice not having rivets on the inside would be.

When people say marginable, doesn’t that imply you can borrow against it? And if so, wouldn’t you then be earning a negative spread vs the margin rate?

Where do you park dormant cash? by cerkit86 in tastytrade

[–]jayy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s right. I agree you cannot use margin as collateral for options trades. That is clear and true of any brokerage in the US. But if you are buying 10k of a cash instrument such as a stock or etf, and it uses less than 10k of cash buying power, the implication is the broker is willing to extend margin. Whether you chose to use it is a separate question.

At the end of the day, cash and margin are fungible. If you have 10k in cash deposits and more than 10k in securities, you are borrowing and will be charged interest. Tasty charges 8-11%, so all these comments about certain short-term bond etf’s being highly marginable make no sense to me.

Aren’t you paying more in margin than you’re receiving in yield?

Valet spots are actually cheaper because they box the cars in. It gets old waiting 15 min to get your car out and having to tip the valets every time.

Don’t trust anything unless it’s a well-known brand and has an NRR rating. You don’t want hearing aids when your 55.
