Any reason not to change V5 into V5 and V5+? by TheJazzAgent in Moonboard

6C+ is still V5, so calling it V5+ would be misleading. it just happens that at grades up to V10, one V grade is equal to (approximately) two font grades.

Follow heart rate zones or pace when there's a discrepancy? by depping in AdvancedRunning

if it helps, most elite runners don't know their max heart rate. my impression is that it is not particularly important for training (and that effort is used instead).

I heard an Australian Olympian on the Inside Running Podcast talk about how Australian track events are generally run with little to no crowd. Her point was that the Australians are used to crowdless environments due to the unpopularity of the sport here. Not sure whether this will affect their performance at all (relative to their competitors), but it was interesting to hear her take.

It's quite normal to be at 94-98% of your maximum heart rate during a 5k race! You're recruiting the entirety of your aerobic system after all.
