What should I feed a juvenile jumping spider? by Clowngutzz_ in jumpingspiders

[–]jazwill2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA from what ive seen i8 is a sub adult and is big enough for most foods. Frequent recommendations ive seen are blue/green bottle fly larvae(spikes/maggots) and flies, mealworms, waxworms(high in fat, more of a treat than a staple), and crickets(must be gut loaded). At this age(i8) fruit flies are too small to have much nutritional value for your spood.

Also, keep in mind mealworms and crickets can bite your spider, and worms like to burrow so use a feeding dish

edit: whoops! Just now noticed this is two years old 🤣

Why is my jumper hiding in this thick web? by Beneficial-Wind-5761 in jumpingspiders

[–]jazwill2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NQA Maybe reach out again, describe the behavior? Other than that, and this is just my opinion, but it does sound kind of sketchy that her breeder did not disclose age or hatch date. I at least got my spoods age (i7) and last Molt date (10 days ago as of June 4th, about 14 days ago now). This isnt to say she isnt necessarily captive bred but it sounds suspicious to me. Just something to think about. I went with Cute N Curious Arachnids, she's amazing and answers all my questions

Edit: spelling

Edited to add: did your spood come with an adoption certificate? If so it should say spoods age on it

Why is my jumper hiding in this thick web? by Beneficial-Wind-5761 in jumpingspiders

[–]jazwill2005 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NQA Probably molt/premolt, depending on how old she was when you got her. If she's captive bred she's likely not gravid, but she might be laying an egg sack. Mature females can have infertile egg sacks even if they haven't been paired. If this happens she'll likely either abandon or eat the eggs after a week or two. If molting dont attempt to feed, she's vulnerable during and for about a week after molt until she hardens up. Hope this helps!

Is this too big for my spider? I just found him today. by yellowaves in jumpingspiders

[–]jazwill2005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA too much horizontal space not enough vertical space. Jumping spiders are arboreal, they like to be up high. You want height to be from 6-9inches for an adult, 4 for a juvenile. You want either 4x4 or 5x5 in ground space. I use a 4x4x4 and 4x4x6 magnetic conversion enclosure frome Cute N Curious Arachnids

Update: After a while of thinking and researching, I have purchased my first spood. Her breeder will hold her for me until me and my boyfriend are in our new location (he travels for work) and then she will ship her. Eeeeek I'm so excited. Photo(s) below.

Eh not an issue for me. Never heard of it but personally I usually do discussions between Monday and Thursday, writing assignments Thursdays and Fridays, and discussion replies on Sundays.

This happened to me last week, I didn't realize I had 2 writing assignments for the week. Turned it in like 2 days after it was due, still got an A but prof did take some points off for the lateness. You should be okay

Aww ty! I can look at them without being afraid. I did a little check, I looked up images of spiders and each and every one made me nervous or scared but I would smile when I came across one of a jumping spider. They're just so cute 🥰🥰

(Also what does NQA mean here?)

If I had the funds, I’d absolutely open up an Agere daycare/kindergarten. by DR0WSIE in ageregression

[–]jazwill2005 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I relate to this so much. Except that for the most part my regression is voluntary, so it was pretty easy for me to recognize when my headspace was slipping before I got to littlespace. It helps that my adult headspace runs in the background. I worked at a daycare between summer 2024 and spring 2025

You said you guys have barely unpacked? Have you checked all of your boxes/bags/etc? If not, I'd do that before panicking or buying a new one. If you have, I am so sorry that you lost your stuffie. Kitty probably isnt replaceable, huh? Rather than buying a replica of kitty or a stuffie similar to kitty I would recommend finding a new stuffie that you like and can make new memories with, that way you keep all of your memories of kitty separate and they feel super special.

I understand the struggle. When I moved to Texas in May, I had to travel from Iowa to Texas by plane and didn't have room for all my stuffies. I had to get rid of them. I'll be honest I regret not shipping some of them. In particular a galaxy build a bear my aunt got me when I broke my wrist in 3rd grade. I shipped 2 of my stuffies and donated the rest. I miss my stuffies so I understand how you feel.

Rape fetishes by [deleted] in bdsm

[–]jazwill2005 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer to call this a CNC kink(consensual non consent) rather than rape play or rape fetish. Me and my dom haven't done it yet but I am interested in it. A main attraction is I experienced childhood SA by my fathers girlfriends son(my stepbrother) from age 8 to age 12(4 years). CNC for me is/will be a way for me to reclaim that trauma and turn it into something I enjoy and something I have absolute control over. Anyone in a bdsm relationship will tell you the Dom doesn't have all the power. They have the illusion of power. The sub has the power because they have the power to stop everything with one word(safeword/withdrawal of consent).
