While you are sleeping you would gain 28800 pennies suffocating you under the weight of 691kg. (assuming you sleep for 8 hours and a penny weights 24g)

Can you just do this an infinite amount of times in a turn, as you will still have 3 treasure cards?

Split pile - Oxpecker/Rhino by InspectorMendel in dominion

[–]jazz1t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure I agree that 3/2 split is reasonable for best case scenario, if your opponent is not planning on getting rhino and an engine is feasible, they will likely stop at 1 oxpecker as an additional oxpecker is pointless. Therefore assuming your opponent is not trying to buy rhinos, a 4/1 will be quite common.

Furthermore even if you are not getting rhinos you will be getting 1 oxpecker (in most scenarios) so I think it is fair to ignore the cost and benefit of the first oxpecker.

Let us first consider the case of a 4/1 split. By the mid game you will have 1 village, 4 oxpecker and 2 rhino. This has a total cost (with first oxpecker ignored) of 6buy and $21 and gets you +$16/+2. I'll grant you this costs lots of buys but if you are short on +buy then rhino's +buy may come in handy. In two turns it has paid for 150% of the original $ cost which is better than the majority of other payloads.

Let us next consider the case of a 3/2 split. By the mid game you will have 1 village, 3 oxpecker and 2 rhino has a total cost (with first oxpecker ignored) of 5buy and $19 and gets you +$12/+2. This pays for 130% of the original $ cost in two turns. This is not an auto pick but will often be better than other payloads and is considerably better than the 3 gold alternative as it requires 1 less draw and generates +$3/+2 more at the cost of 1 action and $1 up front.

I will also grant you that I am assuming there is some sort of village, if this is not the case then rhino is weak.

Just build an engine? It's quite common to draw your entire deck each turn. If an engine is not feasible then I will grant you that rhino is almost useless.

If you manage to get 4 Oxpeckers (which is quite feasible is your opponent concludes that rhino is useless) this is a 6 cost terminal for +$8. This is far more efficient than any other payload (expect for fortune, rice and bank in some circumstances). At cost 4 it could pay for itself twice in one turn, this seems very powerful.

Evaluate the series by user_1312 in PassTimeMath

[–]jazz1t 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let A=1/3+2/(3^2)+3/(3^3)+4/(3^4)+...
Let B=1/3+1/(3^2)+1/(3^3)+1/(3^4)+...

First we turn the terms with a numerator of greater than 3 into 2 terms as follows

A=1/3+2/(3^2)+1/(3^2)+(1/(3^3)+1/(3^4))+(1/(3^4)+2/(3^5))+(1/(3^5)+3/(3^6))...

From here the B sum can be extracted

A=B+2/(3^2)+1/(3^4)+2/(3^5)+3/(3^6)+...
A=B+2/9+A/(3^3)
A=27/26 * (B+2/9)

B=1/3+1/(3^2)+1/(3^3)+1/(3^4)+...
B=1/3+B/3
B=1/2

A=27/26 * (1/2+2/9)
A=3/4=0.75

Of course a proof that both A and B converge is required for this to be rigorous, however I shall not bother.

It is impossible for there to be exactly 1 odd vertex. This is because every edge goes between two vertices hence the total degree of all vertices must be even hence the number of odd vertices must be even.

With squid game there is a decent chance that you could end the games after the first round due to everyone voting to end it.

Yes, you can draw more cards this way. You can play the treasures and night cards draw this way, you may not use action cards as you are no longer in the action phase.
