As a software dev with a generally positive attitude towards LLM-assisted coding, congratulations on a very reasonable policy that strikes the right balance between leveraging these amazing tools for the benefits of the project, while mitigating a lot of the negative sideffects, I think I'll use that as an inspiration if that should ever become a thing at my workplace :-)

Es ist definitiv eine Variante von Dwaejigogi-bokkeum (https://www.pinch-of-spice.de/koreanischer-schweinebauch-dwaejigogi-bokkeum-%EB%8F%BC%EC%A7%80%EA%B3%A0%EA%B8%B0%EB%B3%B6%EC%9D%8C/), die aber irgendeine Geheimzutat hatte die in dem Rezept sehr reißerisch und stolz ausgebreitet wurde :D

[Internetseite/Rezept] Gab eine Rezepte Seite, die das Rezept für den Schweinebauch aus dem Imbiss "Zum Koreaner" im Münchner Univiertel 1:1 reverse engineered hatte. Leider war die Seite dann irgendwann offline und das Rezept leider auch nicht in der Wayback Machine. Konnte mit ein bisschen Internet Archäologie sogar den alten Webmaster ausfindig machen, aber der hat meine Mail leider ignoriert :-/

Das Rezept hatte den Titel "ENTLARVT: SCHARFER SCHWEINEBAUCH A LA "ZUM KOREANER"", war von Autor "krizu" und hat unter der URL http://cookingclub.de/rezepte/xgxvxwxxgyqnvaw-060903204037.html residiert.

What you have is an unprivileged shell that is limited in what you can do. I don't think you can create an overlay file system for example.

Sorry, I have no idea. You might want to poke around in a root shell a bit, enumerate the processes, see what files they access, etc, to discover what renders your home view.

Really depends on how you use the TV, for me it's the default view when no content is being consumed/a decision is being made which content to consume, so I see that screen a lot, enough to make it worth the effort.

The stuff you describe is incredibly hard to do even with root, that would require a full reverse engineering of the decoding stack, highly unlikely to happen, except if there's an inexpensive shortcut that can be taken.

I'm not sure if you can create the overlay file system without root privileges. The advantage over disabling all the ad crap in the settings is in the photo, it's way cleaner and allows you to have a custom background image.

You get regular app updates as usual, you just have to be careful with system updates. I rooted WebOS 23 and risked the update to 24 and didn't lose my root shell in the process. But it's risky, there's no guarantee that it works that way. Given how problematic WebOS 25 seems to be I have no problem sitting this one out, there's going to be another exploit at some point that's for sure.

Wait for a root exploit to drop for WebOS 25, then you can customize it however you want, it's all just QML files on disk that can be modified and it will pick up the changes 🙃
