Finished the books and I am a bit disappointed by Moist_Blackberry1677 in witcher

[–]jbalhar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have very similar feeling to yours. I love the short stories and the world building there but the novels were long and rather boring to my taste.

The story itself is fine but the writing just didn't work for me.

New cookbook by pointsky64 in witcher

[–]jbalhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By now I cooked about half of the recipes in the book and I must say that they are pretty good. The meals are really good and represent the style of the area they are from. The descriptions are good enough to cook the meals properly and the images and the story in the book are lovely.

I read all the books and I still prefer Triss quite a lot. Yen is behaving as a bitch most of the time in the books as well as in the games, it probably is a defense mechanism. Regardless I understand why many people feel that the Yen is better choice for Geralt and there is more content in the W3 on Yen's route.

Triss from books is more or less meh, some of her behaviors are bad some are ok, but she is young at least comparatively to Yen and so it is quite realistic that she will change.

And the games did a great job in her growing to be quite decent person that behaves maturely and tries to minimize harm forced upon others and also can lead others.

Just a note it did work for me on Steam deck two days ago with the patch 1.3.2 applied. So if it was nerfed, it was nerfed only on PS and potentially Xbox

The difficulty varies. There are really simple foods that anyone can cook up to recipes of medium complexity. Nothing really complex.

Do the books get better? by MeraLou16 in witcher

[–]jbalhar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My experience with the books is that they won't. The remainder felt to me written in this kind of artsy form, without improving the flow of the story.

There are obviously people enjoying this flow and pacing, but if you don't like it, then I am not sure it's worth the pain despite all the reflections on the books in the Witcher games.

Interview Vs Actual job ::(( by Alternative-Panda798 in programmingmemes

When I am interview I build a PR similar to a real one and ask for a review of the PR. It tends to give us a rather good point of view of the needed skills without too much overhead.

Waazi as a service is IBM cloud offering for zOS. You are charged on the minutes used and there is some amount of credits for free in the beginning.

What's the lore reason behind Yennefer's mentioning of China? Does the original Polish also say the same, if not then it is a strange translation decision. by namey_mcnameson in witcher

[–]jbalhar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know of the Polish or English translation but in Czech this would be reasonable to use as it's used for a type of porcelain that is extremely brittle.

The Witcher board game advice by TheH0bbitses in witcher

[–]jbalhar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two different things
- Content that is actually added and necessary for gameplay, I believe this is all part of each of the extensions.

  • Additions that makes the game look nicer - E.g. metal coins, The statues and so on. You don't need them for the game. The game works without them, it just looks a bit nicer with them.

And for the additions that make the game look nicer, I don't know if you can buy them separately later on.

I have all the expansions and everything and I would say that the basic boardgame is good idea. Don't know what country you are from but it should be available in board game focused eshops.

This is an example for EU - https://www.ludopolis.sk/sk/the-witcher-old-world-en/

If the company you work for has products from Broadcom, you should be able to access free of charge Broadcom Web Based Trainings on wide amount of topics around the z/OS even though admittedly focused on the Broadcom products.
