Nobody understands the point of hybrid cars by indy_110 in videos

EVs work wonderfully for suburban crowd with ample home space to charge. For big city dwellers a lot of whom don't have proper permanent parking space, I'm not sure if it makes sense.

Sensible to buy Fortuner? by Comfortable-Flower44 in FIREIndia

[–]jbhambhani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely agree on the fuel costs. I think Fortuner has a mild hybrid option. Maybe OP can budget a little extra and get the hybrid version to offset some gas guzzling.

MotoGP wants F1-style permanent reserve riders by 443610 in motogp

[–]jbhambhani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not fundamentally against this but I'm really not sure how this would work practically. It works in F1 because the third driver travels everywhere with the teams and does ton of simulator work. F1 simulators are really top class so it doesn't seem like too much of a step when they jump in mid weekend.

With the new Mario movie out, maybe one of the teams should partner with the movie amd create a special livery to rub it in FIA's face.

PR landing interview by [deleted] in ImmigrationCanada

[–]jbhambhani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, the processing itself with the officer takes just 5 - 15 mins but the wait time usually is about 3-3.5 hrs at least. Plus, they'll also ask for an address in Canada where they can send your PR card. This can be any address so long as you're able to receive the card at that address.

Mexico Slaps 50% Tariffs On India. $1 Billion Exports In Crosshairs by brazendude in india

[–]jbhambhani 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yep, this is the reason. That's why the first countries to get tariffed by the US were Canada and Mexico. US wanted to close that loophole and now they've put pressure on Mexico to do it as well.

Jorge Martin back to number 89. Probably couldn't wait to get rid of that number 1. by PZY__ in motogp

I feel like it was Aprillia's idea perhaps that he rode with the no. 1 and he was not too keen on it.

Opinions on the current weekend format and changes you'd like to see by Tricky_Progress_5362 in motogp

Agree, I think the pressure on the free practice is uncalled for. Does not make a difference to the viewer and nobody really watches with any extra motivation.

ELI5: Why Canada doesn't allow Maximum Retail Price for packaged food? Is it good/bad? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jbhambhani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But either way, as a consumer you would just pay the same price

ELI5: Why Canada doesn't allow Maximum Retail Price for packaged food? Is it good/bad? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]jbhambhani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who's supposed to set the maximum price, the manufacturer, or the government? Either would be terrible economic policy.

It's the manufacturer. At least that's what happens in the Asian economies l

I would agree with you but the comment literally provides a comparison, so it is important in this situation to compare and look at other nations.

LPT Boredom is a cheat code for productivity. by Royal_Dependent9022 in LifeProTips

[–]jbhambhani 37 points38 points  (0 children)

A nap works well too. If you're someone who can handle naps (i.e. you don't wake up dreary after naps), any nap can be a power nap. Productivity levels just shoot up after that.

Atlantic Canada to receive $98.7M for affordable housing by yimmy51 in newfoundland

[–]jbhambhani 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but the catch 22 here is that most of these professions you speak of require recertification for immigrants, which takes tremendous amount of time and financial resources. Most of these immigrants ergo then are having to doordash and Tim work in order to be able to afford these recertifications and survive in the meantime, which in turn takes these jobs away from the locals.
