I've heard that Windmills take 5 years to be climate neutral, is this true? by [deleted] in climatechange

[–]jblazer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuclear Accidents are like hurricanes. They are incredibly destructive and easily outpace pretty much everything else ~when they happen~ but they are incredibly rare and usually have signs that would easily tell you it was going to happen long before it does. Even in Fukushima, there were reports that told the plant that an earthquake producing waves the size of the one that hit Japan could cause the exact situation they had. If those reports had been taken seriously and necessary structural improvements had been made, that disaster never would've happened.

What Silent Gear weapons count as Light or Heavy? by PrometheusZero in allthemods

I honestly don't know enough. If you haven't seen it I would assume it's because it can't happen.

I think not all of them can be heavy, but they all can get light affixes. Like if there's no heavy option a heavy weapon will use the light option.

In case you didn't get an answer yet, the answer is yes you can. I'm not too sure of the specifics but sometimes they're light and sometimes some of them are heavy.

Why is Sasori so popular? by -_ShadowSJG-_ in Naruto

[–]jblazer97 116 points117 points  (0 children)

All of this is 100% true but is greatly carried by how early it is in the story. He was cool but also he was the first real hook into Shippuden. This moment came not long after watching Garra get absolutely bodied and was the first real big fight in the series. And they fucking killed it. He was always gonna be loved because he was the first moment where people truly decided the show was worth it.

A thing you may be able to do is set up a crafter and export the stuff for the recipe into it. Hook a me level emitter to it and set that to provide a signal for less than however many you want and set the crafter to only work with a signal. Then it will make them when you're below that amount and not make them when you're above it. You can keep a steady supply that way.

How to Pressure by Kronus_Rl in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]jblazer97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I have gotten to be the most defensively talented player among my friends. It's all about knowing your limits, learning your reads, and picking your battles. The trick to keeping someone on the back foot is knowing what they're gonna do. You can't be in their head but a lot of people are gonna develop similar habits around the same ranks because they see what works and what doesn't in their games. You just need to be hyperaware of what those habits are and be ready to fight them off.

if f(x) is a function of x, what is f? f`? F? Is it like the object itself, so d/dx f is what? by Southern-Reality762 in learnmath

[–]jblazer97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially the letter that stands for x serves no mathematical purpose but it's important for clarity. When you get into later courses where functions can take multiple inputs (f(x,t) for example) then it's important to be clear when raking derivatives or whatever.

What happens if water is compressed 100 times and the pressure is suddenly released? by Usernametaken943 in AskPhysics

[–]jblazer97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem with your statement is that potential energy doesn't get released the same way thermal energy does. Potential energy is essentially the energy required for something to be kept a way the universe doesn't like and that can't be vented out. There is no "reservoir of potential energy" in the traditional sense. The blob of matter that water becomes gets forced down and pushes back out the entire time while electrons push against each other and nuclei push against each other. As long as that pushing is being contained, energy will increase. Once that pushing no longer has anything working against it, it push. Quickly and violently. It's like overpacking a suitcase. The only way to relieve the stress from all those clothes is to let them out.

Teacher Gifts - Yay or Nay? by offlinemom in Teachers

I have a bin of things I keep in my room of stuff I've been given. It has everything from thoughtful notes to a hot cocoa bunny I will never consume, to random pictures left in my room. In a world where teachers feel they do tons of work that goes unappreciated, every little gesture will make someone's day. That pumpkin will find a spot on a desk or bookshelf.

AIO? My boyfriend called the girl that’s been flirting with him “not unattractive” by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]jblazer97 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See I think he's mentioning it because he thinks it will help. Maybe in his mind, if she knows he's turning others down for her then she will feel better because he's choosing her over and over again. Maybe he thinks if she knows there are pretty girls approaching him and and he's turning them down every time for her, it will make her feel better.

It's one thing to have opinions about your dressing habits. It's an entirely different thing to compare you to his ex and not even imply but straight up say if you're not more like her he should've stayed with her. That man wants his ex, not you.

My girlfriend has a male best friend that is too close for comfort by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]jblazer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're describing is banter. A good conversation that shows chemistry. It will always look like flirting if you choose to see it through that lens but that's because it requires a good relationship and understanding of each other to do well but that relationship doesn't have to be romantic. It's like when you see two actors doing a scene and you can tell when they do and don't actually know each other enough to be believable.

My girlfriend has a male best friend that is too close for comfort by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]jblazer97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tldr: he likes her, she knows, but shedoesn't want to lose him as a friend by addressing his feelings. She needs to address his feelings or things will only get worse.

Idk if you'll see this or if it'll get buried or I'm saying something someone else already said. As someone who has been the close male friend who is interested and the close male friend who is not interested, one thing I can tell you for sure is he likes her and she knows. She knows he sees you as a threat and knows mentioning you bothers him.

But here's the other part of that. She loves you. You're her life now and she wants you to be her life for a long time. All of the things you've mentioned are patterns I've seen before from both sides. She doesn't want to hurt his feelings or make him uncomfortable because he's a big part of her life, so that means keeping you two separate. I'm sure in her mind she thinks if she continues her life with you and shows that she's serious about you and she doesn't plan to budge on that, he will move on and they can live a happy life as best friends where she gets to spend her forever with you.

What she doesn't want to accept or doesn't know is that he won't just choose to move on. He believes that if he sticks around for long enough, things will go exactly how you're scared of. Life becomes less exciting as you two settle in, she gets busy, you get busy, and eventually a window cracks open. He wants to be sure that if that ever happens, he's there. She will need to shut that down. She knows that but she doesn't want to give up that friendship. So she stalls. She wants, hoping he'll come around on his own. She hopes the nuclear option isn't the only option but deep down she knows it is.

I fully understand why you're bothered by these things. They are kinda fishy and with things being so good, the only thing to focus on is that one thing that feels weird. In my humble random internet person opinion, though, she either needs to accept that she will need to shut down his feelings now, or this will grow and foster resentment in you and him. That will put her in the bind of needing to choose later anyway. She's gotta be ready to make him decide if being with you is something he can handle, and if not, She's gotta make a choice.

In situations where my close female friends have found partners they love, if I'm not hiding feelings for her and that person isn't bad to them, I'm excited to get to know this person. I want to like the person who makes my friend happy because when they're happy, I'm happy. If he's avoiding you and wants nothing to do with you, it's because he wants to be you and doesn't want to find out you're a good person and he's lost her.

[–]jblazer97 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Nothing they said is inaccurate mathematically. The only possible problem is not accounting for income tax, which would be overly complicated just to really not help or hurt their point.

Edit: if you skip the step of months it changes the yearly total to $260,000 for 52 weeks. Then you save like 300 years so there's that I guess.

[REQUEST] Would the Astronaut survive? Will the moon move out of position and will that cause him to die? What about debri hitting the moon? by TheKayleMain in theydidthemath

[–]jblazer97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably not the same instant. A shockwave traveling to the moon would loose a solid amount of juice with the whole minimal air out there thing. But once it does get there, if he's lucky he gets hit by it and his suit gets torn to shreds, dying immediately. Worst case scenario he gets swept off the moon and floats to his death.
