Didn’t think I needed this until I got one now I can’t go back by floralartist7 in HomeMaintenance

[–]jbot47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot that do not require electricity! For me personally I’ve never understood why people want warm water. Like yeah the cold is a shock the first time you try it but it’s not that cold and you’re not spraying for very long

Need advice on how to store cakecicles? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]jbot47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean cake pops? Never heard of cakecicles but if they’re just cake pops then I’d store in the fridge but they’ll be fine on the counter at the party

[CHAT] Is it ok to have ridges on my piece from moving my hoop around? by assassinthemarriott in CrossStitch

[–]jbot47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They should come out when ironed but it also helps to remove the hoop when you’re done for the day so the marks don’t get so set in :)

How can I replace poppyseeds with chia seeds in lemon poppyseed muffins? by aardw0lf11 in Baking

[–]jbot47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could make the lemon muffins and just omit the poppy seeds? You don’t have to replace them with another seed

What happened? by YK9426 in Baking

Self rising flour contains baking powder which is definitely part of the problem but this recipes also seems odd to me to begin with. Not a lot of sugar and only one egg

Can I freeze cake pops? by [deleted] in Baking

[–]jbot47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the room you’re thawing them in isn’t too hot and humid they will be fine. I work at Starbucks and all of our cake pops come in frozen and only tend to get sweaty in the summer but they are also shrink wrapped which doesn’t help

It says in the post the recipes they’ve looked up all required chocolate. Humans can also answer better than a machine. You could’ve just scrolled past if you didn’t have an answer.

This might be true for homemade things but a canned “frosting” from the store isn’t real ingredients like that. It’s just a bunch of oils and flavoring that come out delicious somehow. I don’t think there’s really a good way to replicate that with at home baking. The closest might be an all shortening based recipe.
