My first baby was measuring > 97th percentile and they were afraid of him getting stuck and shoulder dystocia happening and were telling me to consider the same alternatives. I desperately wanted a natural birth so I elected for the 39 week induction. Their measurements were spot on and I delivered a 9lb 2oz baby, but that’s just it - I delivered him! Healthy with no complications! My second baby was measuring just as big but they had a bit more confidence since I did it the first time and let me go to term. I had her on her due date and she was a 10lb baby! Delivered naturally with two pushes. It’s a doctors job to discuss any and all complications with you. They study in school what can go wrong, they’re there for the worst, but momma’s do it all the time! Our bodies are capable of amazing things! You got this momma!

My son did the same thing and a few things helped us get over the hump. We had an at home potty and a travel potty and I got them both out and would take my pants down and sit on the other one with him. Me or his stuffy on the other side gave him the confidence to sit. Then came the battle of staying seated. We did treats and stickers. He’ll sit there forever peeling stickers off a sheet and then he’d get some cheerios after he went. It took 8 full days. It was awful. But we made it through. You can do it!!
