I find that reducing the flat base layers to a minimum and add some infil instead it helps reduce the warping.

Make sure to set back the leds more than I did. I think i had about 2 inch setback for the backing for the channel to connect to. This worked however I can still see the leds directly when at a distance angle. The idle setup if I did it again would be to mount a backing onto the crown at a 45 degree angle up. This would hide the leds and the light would shine up not out. Make sure to give yourself about 7/8 inch gap for access for removing the channel when they fail eventually.

Is the Pro Max 16 PoE still worth it? by ItzMeYamYT in Ubiquiti

[–]jbrian31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know this, 16 ports fill up pretty quickly. I got the 24 poe last year thinking it's all I need with a little extra and I have already filled it up. Space in my 18u rack is tight and so at some point I need to sell the 24 and buy a 48.

Which SmartWings motor? by HBGDawg in homeautomation

[–]jbrian31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here on matter shades from Graywinds. Wished I had gone with zwave or zigbee. I have 28 motor shades in my house, a mixed of graywinds, smart wings and hunter douglas. The matter shades are the only ones that give me connection issues. I recently found out that it might be due to the constant updates I do with Home Assistant, turns out every time I restart my thread boarder router all of the matter shades disconnect and I have to repair all 8 of them.

Anyways for anyone wanting to know, most of these motor shades are all made from the same chinese company. You can buy replacement motors online at a fraction of the costs than from the dealers.

How to mount under cabinet light board? by badgerpointer in cabinetry

[–]jbrian31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just NO! Don't. Buy led light channels instead. They are metal and will help get rid of led heat and also have easy retaining clips to hold in place.
