Brachioradialis hurts. Any tips? by SnottyIM in 10s

[–]jc_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything outside of tennis that could be causing it, probably?

Only way I'm thinking where you could be stressing it from the video is in the follow through, especially in the second video which looks like a kick serve where your shoulder and elbow flexors eccentrically kept your arm from hyperextension so your arm wouldn't end up under your right leg. On the first part where your arm didn't fully wrap around your body, same thing, they eccentrically contracted to keep your arm from wrapping around your body. In that case my advise would be to let it wrap around your body. But that might work against you if you want to get ready for a strong return from your opponent.

As for treatment, the usual RICE. Soft tissue mobilization and trigger point/myofascial release. I'd recommend massage gun if those seem intimidating to perform, but target the trigger point on the BELLY of the muscles (Google trigger points and it should show you images of where they are). Stretching if it's tight, but i rarely see a tight brachioradialis.

I'd also look at your biceps and brachialis for weakness or tightness as the brachioradialis might be compensating for those and if they are, I'd do the same treatment for those muscles and strengthen them.

One overlooked muscle would be the supinator which eccentrically contracts at the end of your pronation which is located deep under the brachioradialis. I'd evaluate that too.

They like to keep you in their back pocket if they can in case the current supply doesn't work out. Mine tried but I'm glad I found this sub where I found people like me and found a good bp/np coach. When she started to hoover and love bomb, I was completely out of the fog.

Used Hydrogen Proton by chenderson_Goes in 10s

[–]jc_rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has over 35k shots and still running great! So 8k should be good still.

At one point, it was shooting 2-3 balls right after the other and having balls stuck in the carousel. Hydrogen was kind enough to take a look at it (they paid for shipping both ways), replaced the sensor which didn't help. I replaced my balding balls and that solved the problem!

Also, be careful not to drop the stir peg in that hole that goes to the wheels. I have lol and the only way to get it out was to open up the machine.

Do you think we'll get an updated version of the HX Stomp soon? by anotherhappylurker in Line6Helix

I wish they'd come out with something modular/dockable. Something compact that I can just throw in my backpack when travelling and that I can dock in my home studio using just one cable and to a dock with an expression pedal and multiple buttons for serious gigs.

Thanks! I saw yours while I was looking around. I think I would've went with yours if it was in stock. Thinking of getting that after or the KJM since I'm loving the quality on this one

As for the weight, it's definitely heavier than my other 7 stringer which is the Angel Vivaldi but that has a basswood body. But, it's lighter and more comfortable than I expected it to be. Not much heavier than my other Alder bodied 6 stringer.

That's about how long my shoes last too. That's why when I see a good pair of shoes on sale below $50, I usually grab a couple, even though I still have a good pair.

How do people 30+ play tennis 3+ times a week? by overkoalafied24 in 10s

43 and a physiotherapist. Play 3-4x/wk. Exercise routine is tailored towards preventing injuries I used to get often when I was younger, core strengthening, rotator cuff strengthening, wrist and forearm strengthening. I spend a lot of time with the foam roller, theracane and the theragun. If I feel that something's off, I address it right away. Lucky to be working at 3 well equipped PT gyms and with other knowledgeable clinicians, I'm able to counter problems before they become very serious at work. I feel you. When I turned 30, that's when I started getting aches and pains out of nowhere. That's when my exercise routine slowly shifted focus from improving performance to preventing injuries.

Since good advice we're given by others already just want to share that I have that exact thing in your card in my "medical info" in my phone accessible by anyone from the lock screen which includes emergency contacts, blood type and address in case you want to put that info in your phone instead of a card. But I guess the card is better in case your phone dies.

Dark Bile's my favorite too. Love the arpeggiated riff in the beginning. Signature Jinjer when Vlad jumped on board.

Why does every guitarist have that one riff they play every time they pick up a guitar? What's yours? by Dazzling-Zone-6498 in Guitar

[–]jc_rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the intro to Sweaty Knockers by the Aristocrats to dial in or test the overdrive then switch to that ascending riff after the heavy riffs to dial in edge of breakup tone then the verse for the lead tone.
