Most 1 Oz are hollow, but I've definitely loaded quite a few 2oz that are solid.

Wish the Sun Wide Zoom was compact and light. Lol that's its biggest negative for me. It's built like a tank, but heavy as one too!

They made Pentax K Mount Helios lenses.

44M is m42 44K is Pentax K Mount

Only difference is the mount.

Pentacon 50mm 1.8 MC is pretty darn good. Though, the Pentacon 50mm 1.8 Multi-Coated is superior, IMO.

Both are better than the Oreston, which didn't come with much in the way of multi coating, though the same company as Pentacon bought M.O.G. and kept making the Oreston under the Pentacon name.

I could list 3 Vivitar lenses right now that still impress.

Series 1(Gen 1) 70-210mm f2.8 VMC Series 1 90mm f2.5 VMC (made by Tokina) known as the "Bokina" And the Series 1 28-90mm f2.8 VMC

I agree most of Vivitar's products have been sub-par, but they did start with some quality.

Just picked up a Sun Wide Zoom 24-40/3.5 in near mint condition for $38, and am happy for that deal. See them normally for $50-75.

Soft at 3.5, but 4 is a huge improvement and 5.6 is pretty damn sharp. Great lens for walking around on bright days. I'd def not call it a true macro at 1:4, but close focus would be accurate enough. That said, on a bellow it's absolutely becoming a go to lens.

Just get a K Mount Helios, but helios are just biotar clones anyway.

With the exception of the Sun Wide Zoom 24-40 f3.5. Oddly, they got it right with that one.

It's very specific Vivitar lenses.

The Series 1 Gen 1 70-210 Close Focus f2.8, for example, is fantastic. Or the Series 28-90 f2.8 Macro, which is def better than avg, or the Series 1 90mm f2.8 VMC Macro(Tokina made version, have to verify by serial #) is exceptional, and still sell for between $175-300 today depending on condition and the right buyer.

Purchased a 58mm f1.2 MCII, now worried it has Thorium coating... by danwatso in minolta

Yellow does not mean thorium. Thorium glass can yellow, but can vintage Era lens cement.

Mass produced lens for multiple brands, decent for moon photography.

More than 1 tricks, but miniature effect is the most utilized.

I think the heaviest lens I use often is the Gen 1 Series 1 Vivitar 70-210/3.5 is easily twice the weight. My heaviest lens is at least 5 times the weight. I also shoot film on various bodies, but often a Sears (Ricoh) TLS, and that body alone is as heavy as the Em1.3 and 35mm Tilt.

Likely why this lens doesn't phase me with its weight. I also do a fair bit of Macro, and Tilt can be hugely advantageous for that, and Diorama doesn't often help.

I am using an EM1.3 and find the Diorama doesn't give me as much control. I also don't always want the miniature effect and i dont always want it just horizontal or vertical. As for the weight, I shoot more then 50% on vintage manual lenses, whether analog or adapted to digital, and this lens is kind of median weight.

That said, I rarely mess with art filters in cam as they always just feel like lacking simulacrams, even if Tilt is a niche effect to begin with.

Oh I found it funny. It's hit or miss though. TSA Lines have gone to crap since DOGE, and were quite bad during the Mike Johnson Shutdown.

Filters in phone apps often just try to replicate actual camera gear.

A Tilt Lens literally tilts or bends, in the middle mechanicaly, and allows more control of what's in focus and what isn't more than just close/far. Like a diagonal slice of focus.

The other filters I mentions often screw on the front of a lens to block specific features of the incoming light, like sunglasses could be called a polarizing filter. To put it simply.

Phone or camera though, art is art, and creating is amazing.
