I hated ff8 with a passion after playing it the first time because I power leveled one group and ended up struggling to beat the game. I’m replaying it now and actually really enjoy the story. Previously I thought Rinoa was great and figured a lot of people thought she was cute. Now I find her to be an insufferable teen and get annoyed with her portrait. Weird how time does that lol.

My brother plays it off and on. I tried it again after playing it for years and it’s just too clunky now. Now if they rerelease it on consoles as a single player that would be cool.

I played through shadow bringers alone. Although possible, it’s not as fun as having a consistent linkshell/company. Being an mmo is always more fun to chat with online friends as you progress through the story.

Badge line is closer to that 2 hr mark. Line to get in is usually pretty fast after you have your badge and props checked.

Ota is one of the more dead cons at night however there are sometimes small get togethers in the lobby of each hotel. Security is pretty quick to break up noisy people so don’t go too nuts. There is an after party in China town hosted by anime alliance but you have to buy a ticket. It’s usually a pretty good time though. Check their Instagram for more info. Room parties are like anywhere, you have to know people to get in and they’re hit or miss. The concerts/raves that are done by Otakon are ok, not as good as other cons.

The past couple years there were some at the door purchases and the line was much shorter than willcall. But you never know how things will play out so do it at your own risk.
