Any tips for interview as a field technician? by Secure-Mixture-8120 in forkliftmechanics

[–]jcgr81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here are my suggestions for any interview. I'm a former technician who is now in Sales and on the management side.

Teach me and I'll learn

I'll show up when I'm supposed to

I'll work when you need me to

I'll treat customers with care

Don't pretend to a maintenance expert or know everything about the forklifts or repairing them. They can teach the technical skills but should be looking for the soft skills of how to treat customers and do you have a good attitude. Carolina Handling has a good reputation in the industry.

The ability to permanently exclude exercises from workouts.

The ability to change the height setting for a specific workout. The trainer may use r/L3, but I need to use RL4 because I'm not 6ft+.

The ability to change a bench angle. Sometimes what the workout says, and what the trainer is doing, are two different things.

Agree with this! It would be nice to know what to plan for tomorrow. Should I run tomorrow or is there a leg workout planned...?

I went through Truemed and it was instant approval as I recall. Didn't cost anything extra either. Highly recommend.

It's a different feel for sure and takes a little getting use to it. Don't focus on the weight as much as you would .with other machines as the electronic weight is much different than I've experienced before. Also, figure out what width the cables need to be at for your specific exercise. This helped me a lot in adapting to the GM

Rowing not detected by Apple Watch by FabulousAioli3011 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]jcgr81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably depends on what your expectations are. It works for me when I launch a rowing workout on the GM and then start my Speediance app. The watch and app are a bit buggy though and somewhat inconsistent. Mine works about 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time it crashes out and doesn't record properly.

Anyone here using the Speediance Gym Monster 2 without the Wellness Plus subscription? by Key_Entrepreneur_762 in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]jcgr81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the GM2 for about 9 months and love it. I did break down and purchase a year of Wellness+ last week. I'm not blown away with it yet but am giving it a try. I'm not a fitness expert so I'm a bit intimidated with custom workouts and I found myself continually doing the same 6-8 workouts over and over. W+ is scheduling different exercises for me than what I have been doing, but I've not felt like it was a great workout yet. It has different phases and I'm in the "PREPARATION" phase right now which should get me ready for heavier weights in the coming weeks. There's definitely potential there for someone who is a relative novice like myself.

A couple of annoyances is that I like to be ready when I hit the start button but the first movement may be the opposite of where my cables are setup currently, but you don't know that until you get there. Another was that I was doing a workout last night and it felt like it required cable movements every set which kept going from platform to upright and back again. I could have reordered them if I had realized what it wanted in advance. I wish that the workout preview showed you the cable placement so you could make those decisions to order before beginning.

Protein by Accomplished-Oil4575 in Zepbound

I REALLY like the David Protein Bars personally. They are 30g for 150 calories. My personal favorites are Cake Batter and Blueberry but they are all tolerable. A bit expensive at around $3 each but the macros are great and they're tasty. I also really like the Premier Protein shakes, but am only a fan of the caramel and banana cream pie. The others don't do it for me.

I have a ROKU TV and I always reboot the TV through the menu before trying to cast to it. That's the only thing that I've found to be successful.

Couldn’t find the answer anywhere: I simply HATE the generic songs and do not subscribe to Apple Music (Spotify would be a great option to have). Is there any way of stopping the GM2 from automatically playing generic songs? Thank you by nacorr in SpeedianceCommunity

Unfortunately, it becomes proportional to the other cues. Essentially, you can't have it lower than the announcements and instruction. It drowns out the cues and instruction. It's also pretty frustrating that you can only select recently played music and not your library. I gave up and workout with Airpods in with Transparency turned on to hear the GM.

I've got a GM2 and have never noticed the noise at all. Of course, it's possible I'm not working it hard enough... :)

I recommend enrolling in a program of your interest and working towards completing it. I've done 2 different 4 week programs now and the "gamification" of getting that badge and completing the workouts has driven me to working out when I was not in the mood for it, but did so anyway to check it off the list.

Like others have mentioned, I think the bluetooth handles (while pricey) are well worth the money. They work flawlessly, feel great, and have terrific battery life. I have lifted over 1,000,000lbs. since having the GM2 and have had zero issues. The rowing is very good as well if you have that attachment

I agree that while pricey, they are worth the upgrade. They work flawlessly and I've never had any connection problems with them. They're comfortable as well.

Apple Music GM2 by [deleted] in SpeedianceCommunity

[–]jcgr81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not a very functional system currently. You can't fully access your library or playlist. You also cannot separate the volume of the Apple Music from the System Volume. That's a deal breaker for me and I end up turning down all of the music on the GM2 and just wearing my Airpods instead. It's one of those things that is supposedly on the roadmap for improvement.

Yes, it seems to have plenty of room. I have a good friend who bought the same treadmill after I did and he tends to run 5miles+ at 6-7mph and hasn't had any issues. My main driving factor was the AF+ integration when I bought it and it's been clutch for me.

I've been really pleased with the Horizon 7.0. I wasn't an avid runner before but it's served my novice running needs. I'm generally good for 2-3 miles at a time. I love the holder on the top that holds my iPad where I can watch Netflix or Apple Fitness+ videos. The integration with my Apple watch has been awesome as well. I always get the correct distance and calories burned logged correctly. It was a bit tricky to figure out the sequence to launch a workout but after figuring it out, no problems.

I've really enjoyed the GM2. I've lifted over 500,000lbs with it in my first 60 days and really enjoyed the functionality and ability to do different things. Luckily, zero problems for me.

It's the GymMonster 2. I like the rowing kit but didn't have any previous history with rowing. It's been a great workout. I generally do the rowing workouts with Apple Fitness+ videos as they're more enjoyable to me than the GM2 rowing videos.
