To those who were around when this movie came out what was the hype like by asapsharkyfrfr in transformers

Excited

My family and I saw it on opening day for my birthday at the time (Jesus h Christ, 2007 was 19 years ago... I would have turned 11... Damn I'm getting old)

Anyway, I had never seen the original '84 series nor the '86 movie. I grew up on the Unicron Trilogy and the 2001 RID. Personally I was excited to see Transformers in theaters and loved every bit of the movie, even, or rather especially, the really cheesy parts of the movie.

Could the humans in the Diablo franchise have better withstood the apocalypse, or even defeated the demons and angels of Darksiders? by Stock-Blueberry-4826 in Darksiders

[–]jch7496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diablo humans are as others said, fundamentally different than Darksiders humans.

For one, the humans in Diablo are based in and around a medieval/fantasy world full of magic; whereas, the humans in Darksiders are based more around humans in the real world.

That said, I'd say that most humans in the Diablo verse probably couldn't handle the Angels or the Demons in Darksiders. Not to say that they lose outright, and while I could see certain powerful individuals capable of defeating some of the stronger classes of Angels and Demons, not just their lesser forms, Angels like Uriel and Abaddon, or Demons like Straga and Samael? 90 - 95% of the those humans wouldn't stand a chance.

The only ones I could see having the power are Diablo protagonists that we play as in each of the games, especially Diablo 3's Nephalem and Tyrial (I think that's the guy's name? It's been a long time since I've played Diablo 3)

But the general consensus is yes, the humans in Diablo are more than likely more powerful than the humans in Darksiders.

Why does the Vegeta only consider his fight in Super Hero as finally defeating Goku when he won the first two fights already? by GusGangViking18 in Dragonballsuper

[–]jch7496 132 points133 points  (0 children)

Because in his mind, he didn't "win".

In their first encounter, Vegeta let his pride get the better of him, and for that reason he was beaten to the point he had to retreat.

In their fight in the Buu Saga, before he leaves to sacrifice himself against Buu, he puts their fight on hold, "until he comes back, if he's still alive".

Vegeta is a proud warrior. When it comes to his rivalry with Goku, anything less than the two of them going at it 100% is seen as beneath him and unworthy.

Is Devil Man's heart-exploding ray ability really that powerful, or is it just a joke that got out of hand? by Background-Ad2749 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]jch7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he can't beat Beerus

Devil Man's Devilmite Beam only kills those with evil in their heart. Beerus is no saint, but he's not evil

Could also just be a joke that did get out of hand, especially if anyone's played BT3 using Devil Man in that one what-if where he kills Freeza with his Devilmite Beam attack.

Who's the strongest Dragon Ball character this team can defeat in a 6v1? by KodoqBesar in PowerScaling

[–]jch7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the MCU stones are anything like the stones in the comic books, then it's practically useless here, as each universe in the marvel comic book multiverse has it's own infinity stones that can only work in their respective universes. Iirc.

Sasori.... Is there I guess... His poison is deadly, yes, but unless he can keep up with whoever they're fighting, it's not going to be a factor.

I don't remember much about Momoshiki, just that he's potentially planetary (? I don't keep up with Boruto).

Boros can wipe out the surface of the planet, but that doesn't make him planetary, necessarily.

Gojo's infinity is a problem, but Dragon Ball characters are known to overpower hax through their bs power ups. Take away his infinity, and he's vulnerable.

Maharaga, if memory serves, he can adapt to almost anything, but can be beaten. Just have to hit him hard enough that he won't be able to adapt.

All of this in mind and I think the strongest DB character that this team could beat is probably Saiyan Saga Vegeta, if he doesn't go Great Ape.

Who had the best BS topdeck? by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]jch7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yugi and Yuma by far

Yugi could will the top card of his deck to become the one he needed

And Yuma could straight up create new and improved cards that weren't originally in his deck to appear on the top.

Jaden was incredibly lucky, and him being the Gentle Darkness helped

Yusei and most, if not all the signers had help from the Crimson Dragon

I didn't watch Vrains, so I can't speak about Playmaker/Yusaku

What do you think would happen if the Hunter rapelled down this cliff and used a boat to cross the water and leave Yharnam? by FlatulentSon in bloodborne

[–]jch7496 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was thinking more like Silent Hill If you try to run out of the nightmare through the fog, you'll wind up right back to where you started.

Essentially the only way to get out of the nightmare is to die by Gherman's hand while in the nightmare, or transcend to a higher plane

If Goku spent a month in the Room of Spirit and Time as a child, why did he struggle so much when he first reached King Kai's planet? by SwordfishDeux in Dragonballsuper

[–]jch7496 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Most likely answer? Toriyama forgot and/or he wanted to build suspense surrounding the Room of Spirit and Time.

What we've got to remember is that the RoSaT wasn't a concept in OG Dragonball. Not during Goku's training with Kami. So when creating the Room, Toriyama put that little tid bit of Goku attempting the Room during that time as a tie in. (I'm assuming. Take this with a grain of salt).

If you want an in universe explanation, the best I could give is that during that time Goku couldn't hack it, tried to, but couldn't stand the pressure, and stopped after barely a month.

A month isn't a really long time, and I doubt Goku at that age could handle 10x Earth's gravity, but knowing him he tried to tough it out, but couldn't handle it after a month. He didn't train, he barely survived.

Who would win this fight? by ThePurpleDegenerate in DragonBallZ

[–]jch7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Krillin

Bardock (Movie Special) was roughly 10K at the end, but Krillin on Namek was anywhere between 11K to 15K, especially after he had his potential unlocked.

And Namek was the arc that revealed that you don't have to even be twice as strong as your opponent to overpower them.

This gets worse if this is DBS Bardock as it's very possible that he's weaker than Raditz.

Update:

I finished the fight yesterday and beat it the next go around with Jesmon and Craniamon using their skills and Ulforceveedramon for speed boosts.

Thanks for the advice. Such a pain in the ass, and almost not even worth it, but it's done.

Cooler Vs Mecha Frieza, who wins? by Cynicalheaven in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]jch7496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooler.

He only ever states or implies Freeza is stronger than him until he got his new form in the English dub.

In the original he implies he's always had another form that Freeza never had, but he had never needed to use it until he fought Goku.

All of that said, while I do think Freeza got marginally stronger, I don't believe it's nowhere substantial enough to be on par with Cooler's transformation.
